I'll admit, if Gamestop ran out of copies of Skyrim I'd probably stop someone in the middle o f the road and demand their copy... at sword-point.
and then sir I would duel you till death or just run you over
Then it would be a three-way duel!
Gentlemen, choose your weapon, and we fight to the death.
Have at you!
I would be up for that... A series of duels for a game ? Hell, I'ld watch that. Some protective gear would be required though, or it would be a short lived series.
OT:
Idiot for attempting robbery over a 60$ game that will be in a bargain bin in 2 month at the latest.
Idiot for taking on an armed man untrained.
I can understand Idiot No.2. I'ld propably do it as well, with the subtle difference that there would have been at least one seriously injured person at the end.
Why do we see/read/hear all those stories now ?
Because it's PUBLICITY. It doesn't matter if it's good or bad as long as you talk about it you are promoting it. The big companies out there are grasping at the last straws to get you to notice their products over the bombardment of TV ads, billboards etc.
With the obscenes levels of advertising and marketing they pour over this, bigger coverage of related crimes and acts of insanity is just another way of them to the publishers jingling their keys in front of your face and yelling "Lookatmyshinygame!Lookatmyshinygame!Lookatmyshinygame!"
Yea, COD is just a painfully average shooter, not a holy grail filled with the elixir of euphoria.
