What huge step is he talking about? Isn't it all just motion sensing tech hooked into a game?
speaking of which, I hope somebody finally gets around to making a motion capture program for one of these.

Wait, people are stunned by this? Of course they are the same, I thought Molyneux was being captain obvious. The only difference is the glowing ball and Move more responsive from the looks of things.

Move and Wii aren't the same. Move and Wii with motion + are. Either way both will be miles better than Kinect for actual gaming. Gaming doesn't work without buttons.

Wii and Move are the same, just as Honda's are the same as Ferrari's.
pretty much: they are both obsolete technology from 1950.
Oh really? So you have something to replace Wii/Move right now? Replaces existing controllers also? Yeah, that's what I thought. Obsolete means something better's come across. NATAL, hasn't shown it's going to do much of anything but cater to the kiddies.
Actually I was just pointing out what was wrong with your analogy, and saying that they (the wii/move) are the same thing, in the same sentence.

Move > Wii, if only because it's already 1:1 and it runs on a console that won't tear your eyes apart with jaggies when you put it in fullscreen.

Natal is a different entity.

Either way, I'm equally uninterested in all of them.

The move and Wii are pretty much the exact same thing
but the Kinect is really just a glorified eye toy
so to steal a quote from yahtzee I say we, "Just move on to the next console innovation, like cyberspace! Or a controller made of fruit."

Well, he's right in the sense that Move = Wii.

Not sure if I'm behind him on the "huge step" Kinect has seemingly taken though. Regardless, it looks better than Move to me simply because it's doing something different.

[sup]Yet in the same way, it's alot like the EyeToy... just, well, updated I suppose. Makes it better than Move in that sense though. I fail to see any difference between Move and the Wii, besides the fact that it's probally cheaper to buy a Wii than to buy a PS3 with Move.[/sup]

Well, thank you Mr. Molyneux, for pointing out the obvious. I never would have guessed it if you hadn't told me.

You know what's the best way to make sure you're talking from a developer standpoint? Say your doing that and then give the company you work for a pat on the back.

OT: Yeah, most of the internet kinda figured that out a while ago. The only difference I can see is the fact that Move is more accurate, but not by much.

THEY'RE ALL THE SAME! KINECT IS MAKING A KINECT SPORTS GAME WHERE YOU PLAY BOWLING AND TENNIS!!!

I'll quiet down now, but seriously. They are all very very very very very VERY similar, and frankly just trying to profit off of each other. It's obvious that Sony and Microsoft are trying to capitalize off of the Wii's incredibly unpredictable success, but I won't argue who came up with the whole 'motion control' idea first. (I think it was sony. Didn't they have a motion control thing with the PS2? I remember playing a space surfing game on that once.)

Ahhhhh... Peter is such a... You know what? For fear of getting banned or suspended or put on probation, I will not finish that sentence.

Guys, I don't think you understand. The Move has terrestrial sensors. And gyrometers. The Move is like if the Segway was a controller, and had orbs. That glowed.

Kinetic is not that much "a huge step forward" as he makes it look like. Motion tracking is nothing new. Furthermore there are only little games which can put something like this to a "good" use. Majority of games still play best with a gamepad. It's like the mouse. Many try to call it dead but in the end it's still the best input device for most applications. The same with a gamepad.
