Oh believe me; It absolutely thrills us. Our money paying for crazy women who start by blowing things out of proportion, and then can't even follow through and just pitch the console out the fuckin window when the son pitches a fit. I see both their points of view and they both handled it like children. It's sad when the police have to come put people in time-out.Baron Khaine said:Shall I tell you what it tells me Mr Kutner, how fucking retarded is this woman that she wasted police time over something as stupid as a video game? If she is a bad parent, that's her own problem to deal with. She does not need to dial 911 and call officer's who could have been off dealing with a real emergency to come deal with her 14 year old son who she can't control because she's a fucking wuss. To all the yanks out there, how do you feel knowing that your tax money is being spent on police doing the parenting for retarded parents?Andy Chalk said:"Clearly, it's a very, very rare situation for someone to call the cops," said Grand Theft Childhood [http://www.grandtheftchildhood.com/GTC/Home.html] author Lawrence Kutner. "That she went to the extreme of calling the police tells me more about her level of frustration than anything else."
Maybe the boy could've called 911 on his mother if he had support from the church.Disaster Button said:"I have support from my church"
Is it wrong that I read that and though, "well that explains everything"?
Sadly, I don't care anymore, at all. I've made it abundantly clear in responses like yours to my post that I wasn't using her faith against her, just the fact she needs the support of a giant community to stop her child gaming, which seems a little extreme.Compatriot Block said:Wow, first post and someone manages to single out the one use of a religious term, and start bashing religious folks.
A good-sized chunk of you are massive hypocrites.
She has the support of a church. This can be substituted with "She has the support of a community of like-minded individuals." But, in yet another thread, the Escapist bigots swarm onto the page and flame away.
How do you people get off calling yourselves ANY better than the religious people you so vehemently despise? The church here has absolutely nothing to do with the topic, and yet we have people saying things like this:Which demolishes ANY attempt to consider yourself fair, open-minded and tolerant.Disaster Button said:"I have support from my church"

I could say "Is it wrong that since you're an atheist and I thought 'Well, that means you're a pretentious prat!'" Is it at all acceptable as a sweeping stereotype? No, it is not!
Frankly, intolerance is what started the Crusades, Inquisition and all those other moments you're so keen on pointing out. How is it acceptable for an atheist to treat religious people in the exact same way?
This is a horrifying display of immaturity and intolerance, especially from a community that prides itself on being so "mature and fair to everyone."
Either be tolerant of everyone, or no one at all.
