Oh my lordy. I think I've died and gone to heaven. Definitely breaking this game out again now. Definitely. Then I shall relive the glory days of painstakingly training all my stats and saving my game to go on random guard and citizen slaughtering rampages in every city and getting annoyed running everywhere and getting lost and *nostalgic sigh*. Oh, the good ol' days.

...Wait, people actually uninstall Morrowind? Can't imagine why.

That said, it does look awesome, but I doubt I could run it.

It suffers the "Deus Ex effect": People inexplicably uninstall it, but the instant it gets mentioned on a forum, someone goes and re-installs it.

To me, I always felt like I didn't know what I was doing, where I was going, or where I was in Morrowind. I never liked it as much as Oblivion.

Oh what the hell, I just HAD to run across this when I was thinking of going to bed. Oh well, I guess I'm not sleeping tonight.

Slack-jawed astonishment can't begin to describe how blown away I was with that Youtube video. I just hope this is compatible with the Fair Magicka Regen mod.

Goddamnit, now I've got to find both my old discs and more important THE PAPER MAP! I have the expansion included paper map with dozens of annotations I've added for mystery artefacts and character locations.

Edit: Checked the list, it doesn't have Vivec Expansion (adds huge amount of life to the captial city which was pretty dul) and Fishing Academy (sort of out of place, but adds actual pilotable boats which are freakin' awesome). I'd recommend hunting those down for anyone interested in restarting their morrowind experience.

I was first introduced to the Elder Scrolls serie with Oblivion, which did not quite appeal to me. A breath-taking concept allowing you to go anywhere at any time, but most of the time it was a rather stale experience. Never bothered playing past half the game.

I heard of Morrowind from my friends, and their descriptions of it gave the impression that although "old", it would provide with a much more immersive and detailled gameplay. Never got around to actually buying it though.

With this article to remind me of it, however, I might just get to it!

Looks nice but I think remaking Morrowind as Oblivion mode would be better idea. That would maybe make me like the game.

I reckon it would be less painstaking too
There were modders working on that actually. They managed to convert the world to the Oblivion Engine, but then Bethesda axed the project.
Are you sure?

Bar Valve they're the most mod-friendly lot out there.
Obsidian's pretty mod friendly, too. In fact, that and Mask of the Betrayer are part of the entire appeal of Neverwinter Nights 2.
Well yeah, Obsidian have to be considering they can't finish most of their games by themselves.
By that logic Bethesda pushes out half finished games... oh wait.
By what logic? I'm not saying that mod-friendliness is a sign of lazy/bad developers (again: Valve).

Bethesda's games are fairly buggy, Obsidian's tend to have that and elements that are downright broken.

Hmm...not impressed...the outdoor lighting is quite nice, also the new vegetation, but the rest...interior lighting is one of the worst I have seen ever...the new 'high res' textures are crappy photosources...the ground texture is far to high contrast and frequency...I prefer the original look...it at least had some art direction...

*digs out his old copy of Morrowind*

Secretary, cancel all of my appointments. I am going to be gone on a business trip for the next few months.

OT: Seriously, it looks amazing. I think my jaw literally dropped when I saw that.
