I thought Stilwater in Saints Row 2 was pretty beautiful, Saints Row in particular actually. The whole city felt pretty vibrant though.

Alot of the WoW locations spring to mind(Un'goro Vashj'ir), or just Okami, that game looked awesome everywhere you went.

Metroid Prime Phendrana Drifts or Tallon Overworld. ... Actually thinking about anything from that game reminds me of how beautiful it all was.
Finally. I've never seen a game as beautiful as Metroid Prime.

I'd say point lookout from fallout 3. I always feel at home there even if the locals don't like me

The island of Vvardenfell in Morrowind with a couple of graphic mods and, most importantly, Morrowind Graphics Extender.

That sh*t just looks stunning.

All of it.
Every single local, with the exeption of the *SPOILER ALERT!!!* Iced over jungle. That is just plain frighting.
Totally Agree with this. That whole game was a masterpiece.

My thoughts exactly! What did you think of the first time you see the ruined Time Square in Crysis 2?

Strangely enough, I liked it when I was stuck in my castle without a bed on Minecraft, and had to look over this valley in the moonlight with the piano soundtrack playing in the background.

Nuevo Paraiso on Red Dead Redemption.

If you let the game sit it juggles scenery shots from the surrounding landscape. That game is really beautiful.

The first half of the game in 'Enslaved'. Some of the environments were simply breath-taking.

Special mentions also goes to both Mass Effect games.

It's a mod for oblivion called Auriel's retreat, and it is absolutely breathtaking. If mods do not count, then I would have to say this one part in Enslaved where you are up on-top of buildings. I looked out over the city that nature had reclaimed while up there and my jaw dropped.

EDIT: Ninja'd 1 post before. FML

Personally...I think the entirety of the Myst series had gorgeous locales. That one point in Gahreesen where you are on a stone pillar of sorts with waterfalls and forest all around you was particularly stunning.

I think I know where my fanfiction alter-ego is going to retire to...

Virmire in Mass Effect is beautiful. Everytime I go there, I always stare out past the coast where those storms are taking place over the ocean. It's soothing to watch, combined with the distant thunder...would totally live in a place like that.

WoW has some good ones as well. Nagrand at night, or the pre-cataclysm Westfall at night as well. Winterspring is also a cool place to hang out at .
