If you get the opportunity to check out Homeworld, you might also want to try and get your hands on the expansion, Homeworld: Catacylsm (my personal favorite and one of the best RTSs I've ever played. Just loved it.)bl4ckh4wk64 said:Hmm, I'll definitely have to look more into that. Thanks.Shinkicker444 said:Hi, thanks for the welcome.bl4ckh4wk64 said:Let me start by saying welcome to The Escapist. Stay away from the basement, even though those cookies are pretty damned tempting.
I've been looking for a new RTS (just bought Ruse to see if I'd like it) and one of my friends mentioned Homeworld. I actually never played it, I've heard amazing things about it, but in your opinion does it live up to the hype?
I haven't played it for years (been meaning to reinstall it), but from what I remember the first game definitely did. The second was also great but not quite as good as the first. The story is quite the journey and is beautifully narrated with a great orchestral score backing it up (like the linked video). If you like FPS you should like Homeworld, although adding a 3rd axis to to play with took some getting used too initially. Graphically the game was ahead of its time, so it kind of stands up well even these days (that might be HW2 more then HW1 however). You can also get some interesting mods for the game, like Star Wars.
actually, i didn't; though it is pretty darn cool that each and every one of them did some part in DoW; certainly adds to the somewhat conituous feel of the series (damn, it's going on for quite some time now, come to think about it. i'm old... that's cool ^^ )Soviet Heavy said:Also, did you know that Michael Dobson did Lord Crull? All three of them have been involved with Dawn of War at one point or another.s0p0g said:blupSoviet Heavy said:blops0p0g said:blip
That's definitely one of the ones I would pick.mental_looney said:Um hopefully this isn't hidden away but

Okay, that's why I didn't recognize it. Because I have never played that series. You learn something new every day.mental_looney said:Prince of Persia Sands of timeMayamellissa said:What was this from: Doctor Who?mental_looney said:Um hopefully this isn't hidden away but
