So either a) They go back on their word and don't release new DLC for L4D1 or B) They're countering the boycott by proceeding to do what they said they would in the first place and this is a bad thing?Me55enger said:As a parctising skeptic, and a devout follower of cynacism:
This may simply be a move by valve to counter the mass boycott, making valve look like the innocent party and thus discrediting thier opposition.
Still, looking foward to this DL.
Unlucky you poor poor 360 players....
Because you smell funny. Why Valve? Why do you hate us?
I downloaded it. Can't find anyone to play that map with.The_root_of_all_evil said:Until then, why not try the Dead Aboard mod.(PC Only, sorry)
Possibly the most evil map I've seen
This. Plenty of companies have broken their promises to do one thing or another. Glad they didn't. But how many more DLCs will there be? Could this be the last one for L4D? I know, be happy that we're getting at least one.Cap said:YESSSS.
i am pleased by this announcement.
PILLS ARE HERE.
and all this complaint with L4D2 boycotters, Valve obviously made this announcement to placate them, since it announced L4D2 BEFORE the DLC. I don't see Bethesda announcing Fallout 4 before any of its new DLC, or Team Fortress 3 before the Scout update. thats all the L4D guys were protesting, the apparent abandonment of L4D for its sequel, since anyone can tell you about Valve, they devote ALOT of effort into making a new game, so the fact that they were already working on L4D2 would make any Valve fan ASSUME that no DLC for L4D is being made.
The [22g] people have offered up their L4D servers to us, and they run that map afaik. Check the thread for IPs. We're still a little iffy on how to actually connect, though.The_root_of_all_evil said:Until then, why not try the Dead Aboard mod.(PC Only, sorry)

Uhm.. how could they possibly have known they were releasing a new DLC? with their knowledge at the time, it seemed like a pretty reasonable thing to do. . .Aac18 said:Well this just proves that the L4D2 boycott'ers have no idea what they talking about. Anyway on topic I really look forward to this campaign, it looks very interesting and should provide a good few hours of game play.
There is no excuse for this, none whatsoever. I've got it for the PC, but I just don't find this fair at all for our 360 comrades.Keane Ng said:and it's due for release in September for free on PC and 560 points
This sounds like another way of saying "We made a really really short campaign so we can prove we are still dedicated to Left 4 Dead to stop whiners, but the reality is that it's short because we rushed it out to stop them complaining."Keane Ng said:Valve says their goal is "to deliver a complete Versus mode experience in just 30 minutes, resulting in a streamlined version of the game's existing Versus campaigns."
This is also true, it is extremely unfair to charge for DLC one one platform but not another. Especially as console versions of games are always more expensive anyway.Assassinator said:There is no excuse for this, none whatsoever. The difference is that the 360 is runned by Microsoft and Steam is not runned by Microsoft.Machines Are Us said:Sounds good, I am very glad I bought the game for PC now.

Nope, I'm happy to see that they are doing exactly what we want - supporting the game.Mezzamine said:...And the Left4Dead2 boycotters go slinking back to their homes
I beg to differ, there's a good reason:Assassinator said:There is no excuse for this, none whatsoever. I've got it for the PC, but I just don't find this fair at all for our 360 comrades.Keane Ng said:and it's due for release in September for free on PC and 560 points
Anyway, I'm looking forward to this. I haven't played L4D in a while, simply because it got repetative. This might give me a few hours of extra playtime, only ranked up 26 hours.
