I've been a Star Wars fan since I first saw them in 1985, and I will admit I have even seen Episode III about ten times, for those smidgens of lore, as well as being a fan of the Clone Wars CGI series (THE LORE!!!) but 'jaded' is exactly how I feel towards everything out of Lucasfilm since the special editions of the original triology.Littaly said:I don't know, Star Wars fans these days are known less for being excited about Star Wars related news and more for being jaded about anything that comes out of George Lucas.vansau said:Star Wars fans will undoubtedly be disappointed to realize that the new TV series isn't nearly as far along as they were hoping.
And keep being disappointed as long as that fool is at the helm.vansau said:Star Wars fans will undoubtedly be disappointed...
Umm, I have a good idea.Nimcha said:I wonder how many of you who claim to be 'fans' know what the actual word means.
Precisely that.Semitendon said:Umm, I have a good idea.Nimcha said:I wonder how many of you who claim to be 'fans' know what the actual word means.
A person who likes or admires a certain thing, be it a sports team, fictional universe, televison or movie series and so on.
Why, what do you think a "fan" is?

People here are not fans, they're acting like twats who think they're entitled to something just because they once actually were fans.
Nope, that's pretty much spot on.Semitendon said:I don't understand.Nimcha said:Precisely that.Semitendon said:Umm, I have a good idea.Nimcha said:I wonder how many of you who claim to be 'fans' know what the actual word means.

If I may, I am going to make an assumption. I assume that because several people have expressed disaproval over the most recent additions to Star Wars, that you think they are somehow no longer "fans".
I don't think that is true. A person, who is a fan of anything, does not lose "fan" status when they express disgust at the disolving of the core that made them fans in the first place.
For example: Lets say I am a "fan" of the New York Yankees baseball team. Do I suddenly stop being a fan if I am disapointed in the picks the team makes, or in poorly played games? No, I am simply desiring a return to what made me a "fan" originally.
Also, I would assume that you don't approve of Star Wars fans when they demand a return to greatness. I admit, this is more desire on the part of fan, as opposed to entitlement. But, a person can hardly be surprised when fans feel betrayed by something they love.
Am I wrong in my assumption?
