New Star Wars Show Isn't As Far Along As You'd Hope

As much as I like the Star Wars series, I have to say that I can't stand the T.V. shows because they're too kiddy. Even Clone Wars had the potential to be awesome if it was designed for an older audience... Anyways, hope they don't F up this series too.
I enjoyed the shorts that were produced by Cartoon Network right before Revenge of the Sith. Though all those did were make RotS that more disappointing.
As a Star Wars fan, I think I'll be passing on this if it ever comes to fruition.

I've been a Star Wars fan since I first saw them in 1985, and I will admit I have even seen Episode III about ten times, for those smidgens of lore, as well as being a fan of the Clone Wars CGI series (THE LORE!!!) but 'jaded' is exactly how I feel towards everything out of Lucasfilm since the special editions of the original triology.Littaly said:

Luckily, on IMDB he's only listed as a writer contributing "characters and universe"; much as he's listed as "writer" on all episodes of clone wars, but it's pretty evident he has left most of it up to the other writers. His main contribution is listed as "creator" for the CGI series.
I'm expecting a miserable fail, that I will likely see anyhow. THE LORE!

This is live action? I thought all that talk about TV shows culminated in that (2nd) Clone Wars show. I just dont have any interest in watching anything about Star Wars anymore, though, especially if Lucas is still at the helm of any forays into the live action stuff. I dont know what it is, too many 'yes men' maybe but he doesnt seem to go through the actual creative process anymore and people just do whatever he says.
The only really good thing to come out of Star Wars in the last decade was KotOR games and Genndy Tartatovsky's Clone Wars mini-series. That guy has some serious action direction chops, made a series that was frankly far more interesting than anything I had seen from the prequels beforehand.

Dear George Lucas,
I understand you were recently misquoted, and a lot of people got the impression that a live action Star Wars television show was about to be released. If at all possible, please expedite the creation of the show.
I loved the original trilogy. I consider myself a Star Wars fan. Unfortunatly, you have neglected to bring closure to us Star Wars fans, and I believe your television show will be just what we need.
The problem started when you made the reboots of the original trilogy. It was like watching a dear friend getting an enema. It survived, but it was walking funny afterwards.
Then you made the new trilogy. I must admit, the beating and rape of my dear friend Star Wars was hard to watch.
Finally, you made the cartoon show, and cartoon movie. I don't think anyone expected Star Wars to survive the knifing that the cartoons gave it, but amazingly, Star Wars did. It was lying bloody on the ground, bleeding internaly, but still alive.
It is my sincere hope that the above mentioned television show will finally be the act where you, Mr. Lucas, walk up to Star Wars and shoot it in the head. Finally bring closure to us that knew and loved Star Wars back when it was still recognizable.
In conclusion, I wanted to tell you, thank you for reading this. I know you are a busy man, and I am sure planning the destruction of Indiana Jones takes up most of your time.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan and I have to say [Equip +50 flame shield] I'm very excited to see the final product. I'm sorry the angry masses...but a live action Star Wars TV series just makes my pants very, very joyful.

If I may, I am going to make an assumption. I assume that because several people have expressed disaproval over the most recent additions to Star Wars, that you think they are somehow no longer "fans".
I don't think that is true. A person, who is a fan of anything, does not lose "fan" status when they express disgust at the disolving of the core that made them fans in the first place.
For example: Lets say I am a "fan" of the New York Yankees baseball team. Do I suddenly stop being a fan if I am disapointed in the picks the team makes, or in poorly played games? No, I am simply desiring a return to what made me a "fan" originally.
Also, I would assume that you don't approve of Star Wars fans when they demand a return to greatness. I admit, this is more desire on the part of fan, as opposed to entitlement. But, a person can hardly be surprised when fans feel betrayed by something they love.
Am I wrong in my assumption?
If there is a merciful supreme being in this universe (not likely!) this show will never see the light of day. If it does, we can only hope that it gets picked up by Fox, shifted to the Friday night slot, and is canceled before the first season is even finished airing.
I think he needs to stop with this because the major fanboi's are getting way out of hand and quite frankly I am sick of seeing thousands of jedi and sith clouding my vision everytime I look at something that has the Star Wars name.

But worst of all is that whatever made you a fan, you assume to be the reason for anyone else to be a fan too. This is not true. An important part is that you as a person have also changed since that first viewing that made you a fan. If you were to see them now for the first time, your reaction would undoubtly be different.
All in all, people should just stop wallowing in self-pity and self-righteousness covered by a thick layer of nostalgia. And they should stop giving George Lucas crap for doing what he wants with his franchise. Enjoy the parts you like and leave the rest alone.
