About time I say! The Last Airbender pretty much makes up half of the Nicktoons channel line up to the point where they had to add commentary boxes to the episodes just to keep people watching.

I kinda saw this coming, one Avatar was the most watched series in nickelodeon history, and two it had a tagline, which kind of insinuated they wanted to make a franchise out of it. I couldn't think of a conflict that they would do but I got to say they thought up a good one.

Why a water bender... Its just katara made over sounds like. That's the only thing that disappoints me.
Water was next in the avatar chain. Air-Water-Earth-Fire, repeat

they need to be careful with her already knowing three elements and her personality summary ("independent, passionate, fearless, hot-headed") are ways to accidentally make a Mary-Sue. Still, great to see this universe expanded after Shamalamadingdong's TERRIBLE adaptation

Ok, I hate to sound like a tool, but wow, these people troll Gaia.
There was this RP I was in, and it was, guess what, a sequel to Avatar, with steampunk and a heavy focus on anti-bending sentiment and rebellion.
Fucking wow.

Holy mother fucking god of all that is good and holy, I am HAPPY.

I'm a little iffy about the idea of steampunk, but it's Avatar, and if it's the same people, I'm sure they'll get me to like it.

Since it's Avatar I have to assume that the creators already have a cast of EXTREMELY likable characters lined up. They'd have to if they'd want to even get close to the kind of level the characters of the original reached.

It being set ahead does make me somewhat sad though. No more Toph, Katara, Sokka, or Zuko (at least not as main characters) and ESPECIALLY (considering there's a new Avatar) no more Aang.

That honestly sounds pretty awesome. I say "Good Luck" to all the people and staff working on this project. Sounds like a pretty good premise, even if it does have steampunk, and some of the characters are already tied to the Original Series cast apparently.

Here's to hoping that Zuko's "Maternal Parent Location Quest" will be explained. Hell, maybe Zuko, Katara, and others (Except for Aang) are still alive but really old. Especially King Bumi.

Well, at least we get one more awesome thing to remember before the final days of 2012. Just kidding.

On another note: Aang died as a 82-year old?! Well technically it's supposed to be 182-year old, but still... Man, that's young. Or did it end in a 4?

sounds great and interesting...still curious about a few things...

...who the new major enemy will be and if they can still be as threatening as an entire enemy nation. personally, given that steam-punk is involved, i think it would be VERY interesting if their were evil spirits getting pissed at increase of technology over nature. (face-stealer returning anyone?)

...if she already knows 3/4 elements what is her main goal now? just to clean up the city and stop bender-discrimination?

...wondering how they will handle the idea of the whole "anti-bending" thing and not make it feel like X-men.

still REALLY looking forward to it. (wonder how many 90 year old "cameos" of old characters we will see lol)

The thing I liked a lot about The Last Airbender (show not movie) is that they didn't show death almost at all and the one person you know died they say that they have no idea what actually happened.

Nickelodeon have redeemed themselves and given us a reason to anticipate 2011. Hopefully they'll explain some of the questions that this generation gap will have raised like where all of the original characters wound up(and who with for the people that battle over silly crap like "Kataang Vs Zatara") and how the Air Nomads(thanks in large part to Aang Im sure) are reborn
If the summary is any indication, Air Benders are revived through Aang's natural heritage on the Air Nomads.

Anyway, this Sequel series is interesting in theory, I just hope Nickelodeon knows why Avatar: The Last Airbender raised such popularity, and know how that can help make this sequel at least half as good.

Hopefully it answers the huge gaping plot hole of what the fuck they actually do in the world if aang actually was the last airbender wouldn't that f up the next avatar cycle?

Idk, in Naruto they have computers but not guns, even though guns were made like 100 billion years before computers (rough estimate).
different technological basis totally unrelated to each other. it's not completely unfeasible that computers could have been invented if the discovery of gunpowder never occurred.

Well his kid Tenzin can presumably airbend since Korra is going to him for airbending training. So maybe if Tenzin has a kid, you get another airbender. Repeat until it's another airbender avatar.

SWEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am stoked, I do want to know how they re introduced the airbenders to the world though, because lets figure......Aang was THE LAST AIRBENDER, lets figure he had say 4 kids, if half become water benders and half become air benders that means that we have three more generations starting with two people to re establish the air bender population figure each of them have four kids so that makes 128 people to choose from for the next time that the cycle comes around. and that is assuming a VERY generous four air bender children from each individual air bender in the preceding generation ( excluding Aang and Katara's kids who I split into water and air.) But that was my main concern at the end of the series is that in three generations the avatar would need to be born into a now extinct civilization.

Please don't tell me I'm the only one that was thinking about this after the finale.

besides when you have people capable of creating nukes out of their own bodies, you don't really have a need for military research into mechanical explosives and the first gun didn't come about until the 1400s or 1500s first computer was in September of 1948.......so four hundred not 100 billion
