I don't think that counts as irony, cause he said "windows," not "microsoft." :0Greg Tito said:This last statement is especially ironic because of Microsoft's recent actions [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/96313-Microsoft-Sued-for-Locking-Out-Third-Party-Memory-Cards] rendering third party flash memory cards to be ineffective on the Xbox 360.
You could argue however that he is helping allow homebrew content to be playable easily on the DS. Yes, the decision is a boost for piracy, but its also a boost for homebrewers and those who like to play those games.NickCaligo42 said:I wonder if that judge even realizes that he just supported piracy or if he's completely and blitheringly ignorant of how gaming works.
Very true. French common law is completely different than English common law, which is what the U.S. system (except Louisiana) is based on. I want to see what happens if Divineo Groups gets sued in other parts of the EUParagon Fury said:This is an isolated incident in France. In America, Nintendo would now own everything of the Divineo Groups, including their pants, cars and wives/husbands.
They translate into French for Canada though, and Canada is a good sized market.DRTJR said:if i where nintendo i'd stop translating major seres games in french as well as stop printing instrution manuels in french. there one of the smaller NU markets.
The DS doesn't even use regional barriers.LeonHellsvite said:-sigh- Nintendo should put some more lockout than just regional lockout on their systems... that would stop things like this from ever happening.
Because it is very easy to download actual games onto those flash cards. In short, they want to limit piracy.Crossborder said:This sucks. Why do they even file a lawsuit? I have a flashcard and i only use it for homebrew. That's not unreasonable, right?
They speak French in Canada? Damn you, you've just made me hate yet another country.CoronaryThrombosis said:They translate into French for Canada though, and Canada is a good sized market.DRTJR said:if i where nintendo i'd stop translating major seres games in french as well as stop printing instrution manuels in french. there one of the smaller NU markets.
I doubt it, if it was, they'd have easily won the Lawsuit, right?orangeapples said:I haven't read the Nintendo DS' EULA, but is it against the ToS to use a third party card?
Actually going to that I alway's hated regional barrier's I'm an aussie and as such have lost track of how many great looking games which I can't play merely because some us/jap developer didn't think there would be much point making Region 4 releases of their programs If I want to play the, then I either need to modchip my equipment which I don't know where to get or by a whole new system from the us but I can't be bothered spending an extra 400 dollars on a system I already ownj0frenzy said:The DS doesn't even use regional barriers.LeonHellsvite said:-sigh- Nintendo should put some more lockout than just regional lockout on their systems... that would stop things like this from ever happening.
