Really, you're blaming the game for making a barking sound? How many things make barking sounds? If she had had a stuffed dog that barked when you hugged it, and it made the sound and set the dog off, would anyone have blamed the stuffed dog? I'm gonna go with Hell and No.

If you've got a dog that can be set off that easily then it's the owner's fault for not keeping it away from small children, who are prone to having things that make dog sounds to start with.

Anyone who owns a bull mastiff and knows there's even the slightest possibility that a child will be coming over is a fucking mooron in the first place.

But yeah, blaming games is so cool these days so let's blame WW2 on videogames too!

Oh and my current bloodhound, when she hears dog braking on TV, usually just starts wagging her tail and goes behind the TV to see where the dogs are hiding. Silly thing.
Does that mean we can claim that Pong was created before WW2 and germans were just really bad at it? It angered them and they took it out on the word?

BLoodhound? Are they pure or cross-bred? I've been thinking of possibly getting one

Fuck...
NOT.
THIS.
SHIT.
AGAIN.

I WISH people, especially the media, would stop blaming things on video gaming, when there are other, higher-ranking things related to this.
Dog = FUCKING MASSIVE. Problem 1
Dog = NOT TRAINED AROUND LITTLE KIDS. Problem 2
Parents = NOT WILLING TO TAKE BLAME. Problem 3 (the major one, because that proves the parents are afraid of responsibility)

Ta-DAH.
3 larger problems found.
Anyone wish to contribute to this list?
Thank you, i could not have said it better my self.

This is sooooo entirely possible, but when you think about it, couldn't the same thing have happened if she was watching a movie in which a dog barked? The situation is not exclusive to video games. We can't know for sure what the exact cause was, but I'm pretty sure any dog who hears an unfamiliar dog bark in their house will become agitated.

Daily Mail fiction. /thread

Ok, I'll go a little deeper. Putting aside the amazing levels of hate and prejudice, including hate for its own readers if you look at the FeMail section - essentially its problem with video games, is you can pay 80p for 10 minutes reading material connected with adverts for stairlifts and ceramic kittens, or you can pay 69p for a new game on your iphone. Or check Steam and pick up an old PC game for £1.

On top of that, you can get all your news in a FACTUAL form from the BBC site for free, then choose to back it up by going to your own choice of news service.

So just like Hollywood is pushing to get videogames classed as not an artform worth any legal protection, because they're threatened, so are the newspapers doing all they can to demonise gaming as so much worse than reading daily how anyone a bit dusky is going to blow you, claim benefits then *gasp* raise house prices. Oh if only Diana were still here, all would be well.

TL;DR version, both newspapers and the movie industry are threatened by gaming as it's becoming more successful, therefore they're both doing all they can to destroy it.

Remember, most people on this forum have a knee-jerk reaction to blame teh parentz, regardless of facts.

Seeing as the kid was "dragged off by her foot", the whole "tried to kick the dog" thing seems extremely likely.
hmmmmm really? I've never noticed it, now a'days its usually blame everything else but the parents.... Too often I've seen obvious problems with the parents not monitoring their children or giving a damn what their kids are doing, and when something happens they claim! but it was this not us! and the police follow, and the media follow.
Just read through this entire thread. Oodles are blaming the parents for "getting a bull mastiff", "not training the dog", etc.

When it wasn't their dog!

Ah, guys?
There's been an update, I got it from a mate who's touring the UK at the moment, and it's all over /v/ (4chan's video games board, and they're actually REPUTABLE *coughcough*Daily Mail*coughcough*
Apparently, the girl kicked the dog, which caused it to retaliate at her, not the in-game dogs barking.
And the parents did NOTHING (well, about her kicking the dog)
IT WAS NOT THE VIDEO GAME.

I thought this as well since it was started in the US by Arnie. But I read on this site a few days ago that the movie industry filed papers / briefs with the Supreme Courts in support of games being kept as protected under free speech. So there goes that theory out the window. Unless they are being very sneeky.....

Wait, now videogames are corrupting dogs too? What next? Will a rabbit attack be blamed on Rayman? Or maybe the owner of a cockfighting ring will be found to have played Pokemon at some point in time? Oy, will the hysteria never end?
