"Traffic Department 2192" (1994).whitewolf719 said:Ok so finding this game has been bugging me for a really long time! I'll try and give as much info as possible.
* Background: I was playing this game around the same time as Descent and Doom, etc. so I'm thinking it might have been MS-DOS possibly.
* System: PC, either DOS or Win 95
* Year: mid to late-90's
* Perspective: Top down view, could move ship/plane up, down, left or right to navigate around walls and corridors, etc.
* Art style: Dark color pallet, fairly detailed for it's time
* Environment: Kinda fuzzy on this but I'd guess space/space hangars or futuristic military bases?
* Mood: Sci-fi/serious
* Genre: Shooter
* Gameplay: You choose and then pilot a ship or plane that is always on the ground (like it's taxiing everywhere lol) and your ship has weapons to destroy other ground targets which varied in size. When you press an arrow key, your plane faces and then travels that direction, so this rules out any game such as Solar Striker and Gradius etc. Again you were always on the ground and I remember getting lost in some of the levels because they were almost maze-like and rather large.
Hope that helps!
My, that was a nice little game. The developer has released it as freeware, so feel free to grab it here.
