if its not too much. the last of 3 i was thinking of and so far you guys are perfect found my brothers old game and this one.

its a playstation game. a shooter you only control the cursor you can shoot an ammo box for better gun "temporary i think" has the option for 2 players and the second can join about any time which leads me to think it was arcade based. had a house of the dead feel but with no light gun and i dont think any zombies.

Edit: side note @RelativityMan where can i mark that i've seen killer clowns xD

EDIT2 POSSIBLY NO LONGER HUNTING.. i believe i found the other game on a top list under the name area 51 for playstation.

Alright, this is a really old game, remember playing it in the 2000-2003ish, but it may be way older than that.
i'll try and give the best description i can.

it was a 2D side-scrolling platformer game, really simple graphics. you controlled a guy somewhat resembling a tin soldier, you had no weapons and i can't remember if there were enemies there. most levels (as i remember them) were in a castle. the music was mostly classical, the one i remember best is Dance of the Knights by Prokofiev. i don't remember the objective of the game.

i'm really sorry but this is all i remember.
Just bumping this
could it have been peter and the wolf. . if it for sure has the dance of the knights then its uncredited in the game regardless though. only 2 known games prokofiev worked on. peter and the wolf and one of the little big planets

Hi,

I hope someone knows that name of this game I played on Windows 98.

I think it was a 2D isometric Mars colony simulation game/Simcity on Mars between 1998 and 2002.

When the game starts, you are located on a colony ship above Mars and there is a menu prompting you to launch/eject the escape/colony pods. If you launch too soon, the pods will fire retroburners too soon and crash, and if you launch too late, the pods fire retroburners too late and crash or the ship in space explodes/runs out of oxygen.

The pods looked like this, but in top down isometric view: http://www.chthulhu.com/models/hab/100_0652a.jpg
If you were launched the pods at the right moment, all 4 pods survive landing, otherwise 1 or more would crash and leave a tile of rubble.

I think the in-game GUI and terrain looked similar to Life on Mars?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vajYpGgv3qM
However, the buildings were different.

To begin building, you would have to build a corridor from one of the pods. The corridors looked like this the + shaped buildings in Moonbase: http://www.emuparadise.me/GameBase%20Amiga/Screenshots/M/Moonbase_-_Lunar_Colony_Simulator_1.png
or the x shaped buildings in Outpost: http://s.uvlist.net/l/y2011/11/89809.jpg
The buildings must be constructed next to a corridor or another building similar to Moonbase and Outpost.

I think the greenhouse sprites looked like this: http://www.outofthecradle.net/WordPress/wp-content/uploads/pole_colony.jpg
or this: http://www.creativecrash.com/system/photos/000/095/261/95261/big/greenhouse3.jpg?1275254426

There were other buildings, but I can't remember what they looked like. All the buildings had the same sized footprint (occupied a tile) and all the tiles were the same size.

I think in the game, you could also build rovers that looked like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/3a/Sojourner_on_Mars_PIA01122.jpg/220px-Sojourner_on_Mars_PIA01122.jpg
The rovers were built from the pods and you used them to explore the planet. I think there was a day/night cycle, so that the rovers could only move during the day.

The game might also have been single player turn-based.

I'm sorry I don't remember much more.
The first thing that comes to mind is Outpost.
Thanks, but it wasn't Outpost. The game didn't have the star system map or let you choose what to take on the ship and didn't have videos. The game starts when the colony ship is already in orbit around Mars and the player must decided when to launch the colony pods.

I'm figuratively dying to know the name of this game.
The closest thing i could find was Hungry Red Planet, but it's an old educational game and there's no videos, no screenshots, no nothing, so i can't really check anything...
Thanks, but it wasn't Hungry Red Planet. The game didn't have any aliens or other non-human creatures.
I've recreated a picture of how I remember the screen if the four colony pods landed successfully.

The terrain tiles are from Mars, Land of No Mercy and the colony pods are from Marc Salotti's Mars game, both have been ruled out.
2 years later... did you find the game? I'm looking for something similar. I don't know if it's the same game, but I remember something about some kind of plague that came at the colony at night that could be stopped with some kind of walls. You had increasingly difficult missions and in the end you had to have a number of colonists to evacuate(I think into space with a rocket).
bump!

There was this one hard platformer game in which you collect coins by killing enemies/citizens (not really sure can't remember, but I think you just kill whatever you see on the level),at the end of the level there was a boss which you had to kill, you collect the coins to buy weapons. I do remember that the game had a few cheat codes as well.
The game name might start with gold, but I'm not really sure.

That's all I remember, thank you for your time.

i was browsing through posts and found this unanswered post:

"I remember playing a PC game about 10-15 years ago (probably just a demo). It was a isometric turn-based strategy/city-builder type of game, wherein each turn was an entire season. You started with a handful of people who took on different jobs such as a farmers or architects who built houses and other buildings during the warm seasons. I remember the game having videos for when you "entered" special buildings such as the barracks where you could meet with the captain to recruit troops and whatnot. Most strikingly, I remember having to do a lot of research, especially for cures for illnesses that my people were regularly coming down with during the winter season, which they would sometimes die from."

i literally searching for this game right now, please help me find it

I was finding a ps1 game that my brother played when he was young. This must be a japanese game. The graphics and gameplay like that of Jumping Flash3 and Tiny Bullets. It is cute. I remember one stage is about stalking an enemy girl in a china style maze. And one stage is about inside a train. Sorry that I can just remember these few clues.

I've been looking for this game for a while now. It was a fighting game for either the original playstation or the ps2, it had 3D graphics but the characters moved along a 2D plane and could strafe as well. The thing that makes this game stand out for me is that the player could make their character grow by pressing a direction on the D-pad 3 time in a row. This could be done multiple times to the point where only your character's shins were showing, you could also do the reverse and make your character shrink. I can't remember how any of the characters looked like but I have vague memories of a lava/fire arena and one character having yellow skin and a fat head.

Ok so I don't know what it's called, but what I do know is that it's a game in which you play as a dinosaur of 4 colors and you go around eating/avoiding cavemen whom are cyclops'. It's 4 players, and you can turn into a bigger version of the dino you play as.

Hi all,
Been trying for years to find a game i played in the early to mid 90's
it is a isometric type view, like diablo, in which you had to defend your village from goblins/imps.
you could lay traps and build structures to defend your village.
when the wave come you could get amongst the action equipped with a sword, which you would spin around 360, like zelda.
You would collect gold from defeated enemies, which would help build traps on next round.
Can anyone remeber anything like this? would REALLY appreciate it.

Edit:
Found it, called the horde.

There was a game, im not even sure what console it was on. And I don't have alot of information. But, it was a war game, 2d graphics, and at the beginning you air dropped 3 like care packages full of extra ammo or guns or first aid, strategically through the level and then you jumped out of the plane at the bottom of the level and played a soldier trying to get through the level and pick up all the packages you left behind to help you.

I've been trying to find out the name of a game I used to play in the 90's. All I can remember about it is that the graphics were very simple, wire-frame almost. You were in control of a vehicle and had to go around shooting at enemy vehicles. I think the only colors were red and green. I think the game might have come with Mac computers. I'd appreciate any help at all!
it's a long shot, but Battlezone [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/Battlezone1980] maybe?
Yes, that's it! Thanks! I've been trying to find that game for so long, haha.

When I was a child I used to play a game in Super Nintendo that I was a kind of wizard and could create some blocks (made of ice, slippery material, etc) and my aim was to conduct some little animals to a portal. Those animals couldn't jump... they only walked in circles waiting for me to lead the way. I've been trying to find out this game's name, but had no sucess so far. Thank you in advance.

There is a game I used to play on PC maybe in 1998-2000? It was a 3D puzzle game where you had to go over a maze of blocks. The goal of the game (if I remember correctly) was to get to the part of the maze that was missing a block. This would advance you onto the next level. The mazes were floating in mid air and there were different levels to them, not game levels but physical levels, like stairs. The character that you moved through the mazes was a purple and green alien looking thing. I believe that most or all of the mazes were grey toned. I'm hoping this game sounds familiar to someone because it's driving me crazy that I can't remember the name of it or more of the details. (and no I'm not thinking of qbert)

I played a game in the early to mid 2000's on the pc where you play as a futuristic combat tank type of vehicle and you had to do a mix of fighting other tanks and platforming to reach the end of the level. I think it also had hidden goals that would advance you multiple levels, kinda like super monkey ball had. I also think there were different tanks you could choose at the start and maybe unlock but I don't entirely remember. The final boss had a giant tank and I think you had to shoot it specifically in 4 corners of it, but I never could beat it. It was super arcadey and colorful, and if you ran out of lives you had to start over at level 1. Not sure of any other details, but that's about as much as I remember of it. Can't find anything on google about it.

Hello everyone. I was searching for a game and stumbled upon this site. I can't for the life of me remember the name of this old Windows PC game. It was a point and click adventure type game. The game came on a disc bundled with hundreds of other games (I think). The main character was a guy who seemingly got locked out of his own apartment. I remember bits like getting a coin or something out of a payphone and a red brick wall with a window and a girl with her back towards the window on the upper floor. I also remember a travel agency in the game and a bum on a park bench or something. I remember there was a bar you could go into but if you ordered an expensive drink you'd lose the game because the guy didn't have any money. I think I remember if you ordered an iced milk the bartenders head would disappear. Sounds crazy but does anyone know? It was in the early 90s I believe. Thanks in advance.
