Need help with an arcade game in the 90s, Double dragon style side scrolling beat em up where one of the levels had san fransisco guys humping you on a train, complete with humping sound effects
Sounds like you are describing a MUD (multi-user dungeon) or MUSH/MOO/MUCK (don't ask me what all the acronyms stand for but they are basically the same thing. Unfortunately there are so many of them that it would be extremely difficult to pinpoint exactly which one it is. The only ones I can remember that were popular (amongst the people I knew that played them, at least) were Carrion Fields and Darkmists. Then again, BBS games were similar (all text-based, but more single-player-ish though you still had to be connected to the server whether it was on a local LAN or whatnot AFAIK but couldn't necessarily interact with other human players). The only BBS game I recall the name of was Legend of the Red Dragon. These sort of games were somewhat before my time so I don't know all that much about them.Expounder1st said:Text-based game from mid to late 1980's that my late older brother played on a TRS 80 computer, but may have been cross platform:
- Completely text based
- Played on TRS 80 (but may have been cross platform)
- My brother used BBS's, Prodigy and Compuserve (may have been online, but don't know)
- Game involved (at least in part) exploring a wilderness as some sort of knight or king w/ an entourage
- Text based wilderness map (characters for forest, water, mountains etc.)
- Monochrome (even though he was playing on a color computer)
- Navigated using N S E W
- Involved medieval combat against AI armies when encountered on the map
- Believe combat system took into account unit types, numbers, experience, training, etc.
- No visibile combat was animated, just a combat report showing the results in text (like Evony)
- Don't believe this was soley a combat game, it felt like he was on a larger quest exploring the wilderness w/ other quest objectives and maybe some fantasy themes.
Thanks in advance for any of your ideas.
Sounds very much like Severance: Blade of Darkness.bardacuda said:Trying to remember the name of a PC game from the late 90's to early 2000s. It was a 3d game with a first person view, or a 3rd person view from directly behind your character. It was a medieval/fantasy type setting and you could choose to play as a barbarian-type guy that used large two-handed weapons, a dwarf that had a shield and a one-handed axe or mace, a female elf I think that used long pole-type weapons, and possibly one other type.
Hope this was descriptive enough as I know the type of game I am describing could be any number of games as the setting and gameplay seem rather generic but if you could help me out many thanks.
That's it! Thanks man! It kinda bugged me off and on for a day or two every other year or so lol and it just happened to start bugging me again a couple days ago.Coldie said:Sounds very much like Severance: Blade of Darkness.

Its PC game. Please help
Haha, yeah if it's a downloadable / browser game it can be quite difficult to find any information on it. The closest i come up with is Cave Story. Wouldn't call the character a ball but..cloroxbb said:I know this is the 5th time you have posted. I tried looking for your game after the 3rd time, just cant find anything. Maybe you should sketch it and post it... If it was known, Im sure DOOMGRIEVER would have figured it out already. I played this game in 2003-2004, its arcade type 2D game for PC, its board is very simillar to Mario Forever or Sonic 3 but also with space environment.
There are no humans in this game, only creatures and the main character is a creature that looks like a ball (probably blue) with only arms and legs and suppose with black eyes. he's holding weapons such as: lasers, guns, shootguns, pistols etc. I think I would qualify this game also to tactic. Cuz u had have to watch out for many traps around. Sometimes after killing a creature, lets call him "ball man" receives pistols, well i can also assume that there are other types weapons as well. As i can remember he could get weapons through some kind of boxes too.
Apart from collecting various kinds of weapons there were things to collect but i cant really remind myself of what was it.
To find this game i searched many sites with keywords such as: arcade, ball, space, guns, shooting and so on, couldn't find it anywhere. I'm sure this game still exists.
I can also make a sketch about it, maybe that will help a bit.
Its hard one to find but i hope u'll help me about it. Any1 up for a challenge then?
A bit more info on this would be helpful.basketball21 said:somebody please help theres a game thats not very old and on the very first level your in a room and its dark and when you turn on the light theres all these different shelfs and you find a box that you use to get out of the room and you have to drag a small cubed car around and all the levels are different and on another level you have to knock down a bunch of letters until you find the box and i just cant figure out what it is -_-

I remember you played like a jungle kid or something but it wasn't set in the jungle. I think you were trying to return home or so. He might have had pink hair. You could roll and jump far, perhaps fly for a bit? Very colorful graphics and the stage would scroll to the right. I think I remember a lava stage too. I remember being on top of a mountain kind of thing in one stage. I also remember a Sonic the Hedgehog kind of loop-de-loop. It was really, really fun but I never saw it in a store or magazine. I borrowed from my friend for a short time. I can't remember the name for the life of me.
Any help?

You got missons like destroy something and when you finished you can upgrade your helicopter if you had enough coins you could get a jet or a tank. There was desert missons and snowy terrain missons too. It was not a sidescroller game, you can move on the map, maybe there was fuel but you could move where you wanted. I hope you guys can help. Sorry for my bad english.
