Maybe "Nox"? It would fit time wise and was pretty much Diablo-like. It got a pretty special line-of-sight/lighting system too.
Unfortunately, it's not Nox. The time frame isn't that strict, it can be up to 2004. In fact, I have no idea =]

I am looking for a game that was pretty old and I can't remember it at all. It was a local co-op game that was revolved around two wizards, one ice wizard, the other a fire. It had many levels, I remember it being sort of top down. One level was where you both start on a small island and you both waited for the boats. Both of you had to get on at the same time so that the screen would follow both, otherwise the other character disappeared from the screen(because the screen only followed the person that was the furthest ahead) until you go and bring them with you on the second boat. It had many puzzles and a lot of bosses to kill. I'm not quite sure if it had combo's or not, but I remember one of the bosses being a big dragon that you had to kill each body part to kill him.
I'm sorry if this is not descriptive enough, but that's all I remember.
Please help me find this game :(

Rebump

Probably won't be able to find it since it wasn't in english (Don't know if there was a US release), but I'm looking for a real time strategy game on the pc where the main character was a girl (I think she was a princess with blue or white hair) with a sword. In the game, you can buy generic troops for your army. You also lose the game if the main character dies in battle (She fights with the troops). The story had a bit of a fantasy setting to it and the art for the characters were anime-ish. (Sorry if I'm not very descriptive. I played this game when I was little and don't remember much about it. Game was most likely made between 1999 and 2004)

If anyone knows what this game is, it'd be really helpful.

Thanks :)

Another bump.

1st game
Platform: PC
Keywords: 2D, Pacman, Robot Snake, Insects, Bugs, Underground, Tic-Tacs
Release Date: 1998-2005?
Multiplayer: Don't know
Info: This was a snake game. It was different type of snake game. It was probably in Big Fish Games but I couldn't find it. It was a Pacman style game where you are the robot snake and you are from the pyramid which is on the ground. Then theres a view of the underground in 2D and theres white tic-tacs. The robot snake gets in the underground and then you can control it with the arrow keys. When collecting the tic-tacs then there would be insects and bugs coming from the right and left side of the underground. The robot snake stretches when going deeper underground and you would need to avoid the bugs and insects from biting you. Collect all the tic-tacs and you would win the level. There is also power-ups like Freeze and Invisibility that I remember.

2nd game
Platform: PC
Keywords: Topview, 2D, Japanese RPG game, JRPG, Story, Battle
Releaste Date: 1998-2005?
Multiplayer: No
Info: It started off by the main character that went to a wagon. Near that wagon was a guy with a purple bandana on his head. Then next there was a scene showing off a vehicle going to the forest with adventure music. When the scene finished, I was able to control my main character. The forest looked dark and there was a campfire with loads of characters around it. Away from the campfire there was a floating crystal which I couldn't get to. Then I went to the other part of the forest and no one was there.

I was wondering around and then a battle commenced with enemy hornets. I killed them off and I commenced more battles with the enemies. This battle system is a little bit similar to Pokemon but not quite. When I finished killing off the enemies, I went back to the campfire. I was speaking to a specific character that said something but I don't remember what it was. That character went to the crystal and did something. I was then able to go to the crystal, which allowed to save my game.

I went to the place where I killed enemies again and then a battle commenced with a boss who looked like a bear as long as I remember. It took a long time to kill them and so I finished them off. I went back to the campfire and then I recognized that I had to go to the camp leader. When I spoke to him then the whole screen went black and white and then a menu came up of 4 characters that you could play as next. The same one, 2nd girl, 3rd girl and a guy with a purple bandana.

3rd game
Platform: PC
Keywords: Jet planes, Rockets, Special Abilites, Shooting, 2D, Laser
Released Date: 1998-2005?
Multiplayer: Yes. Can have 2 players.
Info: In this game you can control an orange jet plane which allows you to shoot with spacebar. The music was adventurous and I don't remember what the enemies looked like at all. The plane was on the left side of the screen while the enemies would come from the right side of the screen. You can control the jet plane to go up or down. There would be special abilities like rapid fire and rockets that you can pick up throughout the game. When playing multiplayer, the second jet plane would look red. I remember that the first boss looked like a train and if you were to go at the front of it then it would have a cannon attached to it which you will need to destroy. The cannon will shoot the bombs at you and you have to avoid them. There was also a level where you are in the sky and the enemies were spikes with balloons attached to them. The boss then was a mothership with loads of laser guns.

Looking for an older game from 2000-2003 era diablo 3 style of game. The story is of a sword and shield and two mighty armies fighting one another, the side of good and the side of evil, you start the game in the beginning fighting with the evil army, the game begins with an opening of being dropped in by some weird dragon monster along with other soldiers, you fight your way up the beach to a temple where the story is told of the sword and shield and you watch the 2 forces clash and shatter, you black out and wake up a prisoner in a large elven tree house and are forced to do quests for them in order to become free. the game featured character customization and plenty of different skill branches you could play as, after becoming free you travel through a portal to a desert land.

The aim of the game was to collect all 4 pieces of the shield I think.. I never finished the game so I never found out.

I would like to find out asap as I remember this game quite strongly and would like to have the pleasure of nostalgia.

Thank you!

(It's not Fable)I played this game on my PC. I bealive the game starts inside of the house, where there's main character and his mother. His steps were loud. I think he had like a cape or something like that on his back. The house is in some village you can talk to people and do things for them. There was a woman in the village holding a bucket of apples or flowers. I remember that i wasn't allowed to leave the village so I had to sneak by the guard and there was like a cutscene for that. Then I play in some different village. I think it's played from the birds view.

I dont know but it sound like terranigma

another game ive lost the name for but again heres what i remember, its a real time strategy game that set in a fantasy plane allowing you to play as undead, elves(i think if not its somekind of nature force), humans and one other which im lost on if there is a fourth. thats all i can remember.

EDIT i just remembered this not sure if it will help.
the ground where you built as the undead or nature force(elf w/e) would change to dead grass(black grass i think) or lighter grass like the zerg from starcraft universe.
sounds like a warcraft game, though there are others which names escape me. what was it for? Pc, console, handheld?

it was for PC
ah sorry also should have asked if you knew when it came out or around what year you remember playing? trying to narrow down the list :).
ive only played the demo but i think i played it around 2003 i think
EDIT also i do remember you could get hero units that could buy equipment from shops around the map but it wasnt a warcraft game i know that
That sounds a lot like Rising Kingdoms or Heroes of Annihilated Empires, which are both RTS's in Warcraft style. Rising Kingdoms' "undead" faction are called Shades, though you only play as them indirectly as i recall.

Hey guys, about 5 years ago I played this online multiplayer RPG 2d anime fantasy character looking shooting game. After you continuously play, you get experience and levels and can eventually buy better weapons. The game starts fresh in a lobby each game and it is a team deathmatch kind of game. I'm not entirely sure if the game got shutdown, but it was different maps each time you go into deathmatch and was a 2D map. There were like rockets and lasers and freeze guns as weapons as far as I can remember. If you can let me know the name of this amazing game, it would be much appreciated. If you need any other information to understand the name of the game, please let me know. I'm dying to remember this game as I remember it was amazing.

Thanks.

Alright this one's been bugging me for like a year now, so glad I found this thread. PC game from the 2003-2005 timeframe if I remember correctly. It was a fairly generic sci-fi shooter, but you could get in tons of different vehicles. I distinctly remember they had dropships, jets, APCs, all sorts of stuff. In multiplayer you were able to seamlessly transition from ground up into space and have some type of space dogfighting. I stuck an APC inside of a dropship, flew it up into orbit, got into the back of the dropship, manned the APC, and ejected and rode it all the way back down to the ground. It was amazing and I would love to screw around in that game again, if only I could remember the damned name. I don't think it was very popular even at the time, fairly low-budget and super buggy. But still fun as hell.

I remember playing a game when I was a kid that I'd love to find again.
It was a 3rd person space strategy game. It had different sizes and styles of ships, all the way up to a really big circle-looking thing that was a big base defense station. While empire building was done turn-based, Battles were fought in a different screen that was real-time, or turn-based real time. I seem to recall that the dominant weapon was lasers, and it showed the line of the laser as it fired from one ship to another. I seem to remember the dominant color of the battles being pinkish, or fuchsia, although I'm pretty sure it was post-CGA graphics era.
It seems like different planets had different atmosphere types and you had to build a colony ship that matched that planet type.
I also remember that you could set time to pass, and as it did, the game played arpeggio-like music as time passed. (But this little detail might have been a different game, lol).

Any ideas? It seems like it was around 94-98?
I looked at the Space Empires series, but I don't think it was any of those.

My brother thinks it may have had a variation of "colonization" in the title.
Sounds kind of like a Star Control game. I only ever played 3, but that had the different atmospheres, real time battles and total laser domination.
Thanks - that's not it, but it's moving in the right direction. Star Control 3 (1996) is definitely newer than this game was. Star Control 2 (1992) is very similar, but not the one I was looking for. The one I remember is totally strategy - there is no plot or storyline, and no diplomacy. But it sounds like my guess of 94-98 is probably wrong. It was probably more like 90-94.

Any other ideas of similar games?

Ok so this is for a game that I played on the xbox console. The game starts off with a plane crash in a jungle, u are an explorer and are trying to find a blonde chic who you like, there is an evil guy who at one point in the game makes clones of himself. There is a leopard who can talk and I believe helps you. I remember clearly that in one part of the game you run into a baby monkey and swap bodies with it, you then have to chase it in order to get your body back and unfortunately when you do the mother monkey attacks you. I know this is very vague but if anyone can take a guess or has the answer it would be much appreciated.

Hello fellow gamers.
I'm really cracking my head with the name of this game.. It's a game i've played in 2004-2008 years timeframe (not sure if that's right, but.. should be close). It was a game about some kind of hooligans/criminals/mobsters that were fighting other guys in the cities. not a colorful game, can remember it was always dark, view is from the top, it was single player pc game. It's defo not Mob Rule. And i don't remember building anything there. It was pure fighting stuff.. Sadly it's all i can remember.. ://
Can anyone remember something like that?

Hi guys I hope you can help me with this..

I remembered this game where you start of in space particularly its similar to the moon, btw this is a 1st person POV, and then there is this spaceships/hovercrafts lined in front and as far as I recall one of them has a white hawk/eagle head design on the whole front of the ship, the size of the ships also varies and I think the one with the hawk/eagle design is the largest one. About the gameplay, I remembered I am just going around that place using one of the ships and also it doesn't really fly into space.

I really don't remember if its in pc or ps1 but I played it using our old pc through a CD with ps1 games like tome raider, g-police, quake 2, etc.

Hope someone here can help me. Thanks in advance :)

Maybe "Battlezone"? I remember that there were ships painted with shark faces or something like that, not sure about the eagle/hawk. You started on the moon to. Only thing is it had 1st person as well as bird view and it also allowed you to collect ressources/build a base.

Hi, I wonder if you could help me. I'm looking for an old game that I can't find online ANYWHERE.

This has been bugging me for literally years and recently i have been investing more and more time to try and find it.

I have recently downloaded some of my favourite old games from the 90's: commander keen 2, star wars dark forces, red alert 1, full thorttle etc.

The game I'm looking for is a STRATEGY game, no newer than 1997 (probably older, between 90-97).

From memory its VERY similar to Total Annihilation & Command & Conquer.

The level I can remember is: Starting off in a sort of castle/stronghold/base with water around it and a bridge heading off to the north (possibly other directions as well). Your team was red and the enemy was blue (i think). I believe you could build turrets onto the existing stronghold structure and also produce troops from it. The troops were similar to Space Marines ie. rockets and machine guns. You could also produce vehicles, tanks and maybe buggies? You had to uncover the map and find enemy bases and destroy them whilst defending your own.

I have a feeling it had a 'tower defence esk' feel to it mixed with command and conquer.

From this description I know it could be anything but if you could suggest any similar games to this from around that time then that would be much appreciated!!

thanks

Wow, this is it. Maybe I switched the shark face to hawk.. haha.. well it has been 10 years since I last played it so I'm really not sure too about that. Well anyway, Thank you raeior :)
