Hi guys, and gals! After searching for an hour with random strings of my memory and stumbling across this thread multiple times, I've decided to register and try my luck here.

I'm looking for an old DOS or Windows 95 RPG game. I can't remember if the combat was turn based or real time. The only vague things i do remember is that it was a top down or slightly isometric in perspective, no 3d scenes (something simmilar to old DOS LOTR games). I think you had the character portraits displayed on screen at all times.
Upon start you get only one character, a fighter/warrior/knight class. I don't think you could choose your own class. He had blue armor on him, had blond hair and looked cartoony and masculine in appearance. The game probably was somewhat comedic in nature. You begin in some kind of a village (I could be mistaken about this). Later on you meet another character on a bridge. He was colored green, or rather his cloak, and I think he was some kind of a ranger or rogue class. He had a bow or crossbow for a weapon. After a bit of more adventuring, you get a mage class character. This one was colored red or purple. I remember that I got stuck in some kind of castle or dungeon, where I could not cross a lava (or water) pool.

If this strikes anyone as something they might have played, please don't be shy in replying. :)

Thanks.

EDIT: Graphically think of Warcraft II. The perspective is the same.

I have 2 games that are driving me NUTS. I cant remember their names but I remember them vividly! Any help would be awesome!

1st game:
Mid 90s
PC
First Person
3D
Had an FMV Sequence as an intro - very bladerunneresque
You play as some sort of Explorer flying around a ship on Mars.
You can deploy a wise cracking AI rover that you could control to enter various buildings
Time Travel plot twist
Air to air combat is involved.
Has a name similar to "Terminal Velocity". Don't count on that though....
you can accidentally rollover the rover, to which the AI berates you.

UPDATE! Figured it out! SURFACE TENSION!

and had cutesy space theme background that moved.......
The answer to my second question was otto magic blocks

I'm looking for an old PC game where you played an ant, probably from early 2000s, it was 3D and looked kind of like the first Toy Story game in terms of scope. All I can remember about it is trying to save other ants who had been captured or something, I think there was a giant slug enemy that patrolled around the first area of the game and you also had to fight red ants. My most vivid memory of the game was a giant leaking tap in the first garden area.
Empire of the Ants?

Neither of those two, but thanks for trying. It had Warcraft II like graphics and perspective. I think it was a PC only. game.
I just remembered that you could refuse the ranger on the bridge, so he would not join your party.

I remember playing a game when I was a kid that I'd love to find again.
It was a 3rd person space strategy game. It had different sizes and styles of ships, all the way up to a really big circle-looking thing that was a big base defense station. While empire building was done turn-based, Battles were fought in a different screen that was real-time, or turn-based real time. I seem to recall that the dominant weapon was lasers, and it showed the line of the laser as it fired from one ship to another. I seem to remember the dominant color of the battles being pinkish, or fuchsia, although I'm pretty sure it was post-CGA graphics era.
It seems like different planets had different atmosphere types and you had to build a colony ship that matched that planet type.
I also remember that you could set time to pass, and as it did, the game played arpeggio-like music as time passed. (But this little detail might have been a different game, lol).

Any ideas? It seems like it was around 94-98?
I looked at the Space Empires and Star Control series, but I don't think it was any of those. It was pretty similar to Star Control though.

My brother thinks it may have had a variation of "colonization" in the title.
I wasn't into these games but here's some turn based games :
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronology_of_turn-based_strategy_video_games
Thank you for that list. Hmm, I looked through that list extensively, and was unable to find the game. I'm guessing it must have been a lesser-known remake of a more popular game. It was similar to Master of Orion, but wasn't it.

I do remember now that the colony ships were very important, and had to match the atmosphere of the planet. I think there may have also been ships called juggernauts. And lots of fighters. Based on looking through the list, it would appear that it would have been made within a few years of 1992. Still looking ...

This late 80's early 90's DOS game was primarily about animals and I think had a series of mini games. I remember a ginger cat that meowed on the main page of the game. There was also a frog that you had to guide through a maze to get the fly. There was also a forest scene with various forest animals, but I can't remember what you had to do with the animals. It was a simple game targeted at young kids. Does anyone remember? It's driving me nuts!
Any ideas? The forest/wood had a deer and a raccoon in it. And I remember the 'froggy went a courtin' song played while you did the maze. It was point and click / arrows game
I think I'm way off here but Toonstruck?

http://youtu.be/-yTGHgWXflU
Mmm no that's not it, it's way more pixelated and simple, and doesn't have any real life looking things. Thanks for trying but really appreciate it
I found the game with the frog maze, 'Amy's First Primer' from 1985 haha. Obviously it's a different game to the game with the cat / forest animals. If anyone know a game with a cat and forest animals in it let me know.

Hi there! I've been searching this game everywhere, and after googling and looking at lots and lots of longplays and reviews in youtube, I've decided to ask for help here.
This is a game I played a long time ago, on a Commodore 64.
It's a side scroller/platformer. It's a little bit like Ghosts 'n Goblins.
The only things I remember are that the final boss is some sort of flying creature called "Wicked". I also remember that there were some big enemies, like flying giant Phaun-like creatures that would fly by throwing shitloads of fireballs or bullets.
Mmm... what else? The predominant color of the game is black. Black background. It has platforms, and I'm not sure about the main character, the hero, no matter how I try I just can't remember what it is, how it looks like.
Well there it is. I'll appreciate enormously any help or hints I can get! Feel free to ask me about the game, maybe one question can trigger more memories.
Thanks !!
G
Unless it's Ghouls N Ghosts? I always get those two confused.
It's not Ghost N Goblins nor Ghouls N Ghosts, those two are similar games that changed name depending on the platform and year of release. This game I'm looking for is kinda similar, in the sense that some flying demonic like creature (called "Wicked" in this one) kidnaps or kills your girlfriend, and you go out to avenge or rescue her, I don't remember.
Oh and I remembered another thing:
- Bullets or projectiles look, regardless of what enemy shoots them, like *
- It's a short game, few stages
- You can choose unlimited energy and/or lives, so it's very easy to beat
- The final boss, the main enemy, called Wicked, is like a red bat, that moves around a lot and shoots a gazillion * at you

Somehow this reminded me of Magic Candle 3, but I'm not sure if you mean Warcraft 2 like style-wise or quality-wise. I think you start as a blond (well as far as the graphics allow you to distinguish this...) guy in blue armor and in the first forest you meet more characters one of which might have been a archer.

There was a game i used to play a couple of years ago it was 64-bit and it started with your character falling... He'd have amnesia and brown or black hair and can't remember anything the when then a girl would walk up to you and ask your name so you create one then you'd explore and then after time had passed you would sleep and fight this evil death figure and if you'd lose you continue the game and become stronger

Okay so I really need to find out these 2 games.

So the first one is a 3D puzzle game that had cool music in it, and if I remember correctly on the left side there was a tab where you could change the shapes of the puzzle. There were ballshape puzzles and so on.

All I remember from the second game is that you can choose between different characters, then you're on a raft if I remember correctly and then there are 2 sides and you usually, if not always, played on the left side of the screen. There was also a wall between the 2 sides and a hole pretty high up the wall so you could shoot to the other side. There were also balls right above you that you had to shoot with the matching colors.

Something like this http://i.imgur.com/9SchgUT.png . Not a masterpiece as you see.

There's this game for either Sega Genesis or Sega Saturn that's driving me crazy, so I'm really hoping someone can help me out. I don't remember much but I know it starts off with you driving a car (in first person view) down a highway. After you arrive at your destination, you get out of the car and it becomes either a beat 'em up or a shoot 'em up. I'm pretty sure you drive again after every level too.
One of the Virtua Cop games?
Nah that's not it. :/ Thanks though!

I remember playing a game in the early 2000s on a PC. It was about some guy that lived in the woods, all I can really remember is something about potions. I think his name was in the name of the game. Help me find it!
