OK, here is one for the group. It was generally chess-like, 1vs1 or 1vsCPU You had a certain number of points/dollars to spend on making an army. You could have vampires (flying), ghouls, demons, doppelgänger, traps and other things that I can't remember. The game would set up on a field-like surface. One of the characters would be designated the Flag Bearer (like a king in chess, but retaining it's own abilities). You wouldn't know which character your opponent set as the flag bearer. Each person takes turns moving a character. Here is where it got cool.
In chess, when a pawn attacks a queen, the pawn wins. But in this one, when you attacked another character (or vice versa) it would open up a 2-D battle ground. Each player would then move their characters and fight in real time. The vampire could fly (slowly) and shoot freezing rays from its eyes, and would bite/suck life out of the opponent and add it to its own life. The doppelgänger would assume the look of another type of character (but not the strength). Each character had it's strength or weakness. Some were very weak (and cheap) while others like the demon, were strong and expensive.
Any ideas? I seem to remember playing it between 1992-95.
