But there's another I have to throw out there, and I don't think words can describe how much I'd want this: Mechwarrior 2. Throw in the expansion and Mercenaries and I'd be like a little kid on Christmas at the existence of such a remake. To be honest, I'd pay good money just to get the soundtracks as performed with actual instruments instead of MIDI or whatever it had. But those games, with modern technology? If done right, I'd be in gamer heaven.
I wholeheartedly agree with this (I mentioned it just a few posts above, in fact), but one correction - the soundtracks were done with actual instruments and not MIDI. I still have the MW2 game disc at home and play all the non-data tracks every now and then just because the music is so awesome.

Fallout 1 and 2.

Give it some amazing graphics, stomp the bugs, add all the stuff that was in the Restoration mods, improve the turn-based gameplay a bit and maybe even add an option to play in real time (but that would probably be too drastic and would greatly affect some perks/traits).
As a longtime Fallout fan... yeah, I could go for that. I don't think true real-time would work with it, but maybe something like Fallout Tactics' CTB to make it more accessible to people who just can't stand the old-fashioned style. Oh, and while we're at it, maybe tone down the 4th wall breaking in 2, and give the first game the same companion system (or updated version of it) as the second. Ian blasting you in the back with an SMG won't be any less infuriating with updated graphics.

Morrowind, hopefully for the PS3. I'm tortured by the fact that I can't play it.

And before you say it, no. My PC can't run it. ;~;
Oh god, yes! But not with the Oblivion engine, and not with Oblivion's simplistic combat mechanics, that's scarcely an improvement. I honestly think this would be best done by someone other than Bethesda, but that may be because my opinion of them is so abysmally low.

Seriously? I have all those tracks, and some of it sounds synthesized. Not all, but some. I'll have to listen to it again. If you're right, well... still, it could be redone under much less limited circumstances than game music was created under in '95.

Maybe they could add something similar to the Wild Wasteland trait? Usually when I played Fallout 2 I only had 1 trait anyway. Or maybe they could just put it in the options to turn down pop references and all that (I think it would be the only game ever made to have something like that).

That... sounds like the perfect way to handle it.

Two of my favourite underrated PC classics from 12 years ago, Carmageddon and Die By The Sword. Two of the most violent games as well, without getting excessive like manhunt, one that would look glorious in HD for pure road rage racing carnage, and the other HD is an obvious plus but it was type of game that a Wii-Mote/Move controller was made for. Basically did the same thing, except used the mouse or numpad to control the free-moving sword arm, that let you hack off limbs and decapitate opponents. Multiplayer/Co-op at the time was also limited due to the telecom technology at the time.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto! The only reason me and my friends don't play that MP today is due to the glitches of that time.

perfect effing dark in the cod days were customization is massive now noting could compare to modern perfect dark. honestly in cod have u ever laucnhed a pinball grenade down a hall while your laptop gun slaughtered your dad 2 rooms away while using an alien sniper rifle to shoot through walls to gun down your dad as he respawns, dropped a gun that proximity explodes when someone else tries to pick it up only to be killed as your little brother sneaks up behind you and pops a lethal injection tranquilizer dart in the back of your skull. now imagine that online and with the potential of modern gaming. try and tell me anything in duty can compare to that.

Goldeneye. Don't give me that wii crap, that wasn't what we want. Just take goldeneye from the 64, up the graphics, DO NOT ADD ANYTHING OR TAKE ANYTHING OUT, and release. I would buy that.

I second the nominations of Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Final Fantasy VII, and Majora's Mask. I wouldn't mind the old Fallout games released in a style similar to Fallout 3/New Vegas, but too much might be lost in that sort of convergence, something similar to the Dragon Age series would be more appropriate. FFVII is just begging for a modern HD remake, I could never get into the PS1 original. And, a 3D conversion similar to the one Ocarina of Time got would be cool for Majora's Mask.
