Some do do other things (if you mean what I think you mean) and some have sex. It doesn't necessarily mean you practice abstinance, just have no desire for sex. You can check the wiki or go to AVEN for more information.

What's everyone's opinion on Asexuality? 'Cause I'm feeling a bit left out of the opening post.
Asexual people have no deal. They're cool in my book.
I dunno, I've gotten lots of "Your joking, right?", "That's not normal" And my personal favorite "Oh are you studying to be a priest?"
Never understood "that's not normal" as a judgement call. Lots of things are 'normal' that I'd just as soon never have anything to do with.

Everyone should be free to express their sexuality as they see fit. *

[sub]* With a standard disclaimer for the idiot who wants to say "what about rape" - no, that isn't an expression of sexuality, that's torture. Don't be a jerk.[/sub]
It's an expression of sexuality that's usually torture for the person getting raped.
No. Rape has nothing to do with sex and everything to do with power, control and domination.

Sometimes it does, definitely not ALL the time. Rape is very broad term.

I've heard of the stories in third world countries where it's used as a weapon against women. In those cases it definitely is.
No. If you're using something as a weapon to cause harm or terror, it has nothing to do with sex and everything to do with you being a psychopath.

doth quote Yahtzee:
"It's like I've eaten spam a few times from a few popular brands and in a few serving suggestions, and found I'm not really keen on spam, 'cos it's salty and slimy and looks like something you might find in the alien queen's litter box. But I've found myself in a world that's completely obsessed with spam. People spend their entire lives in pursuit of spam. Every single advert on TV sells their product by placing it alongside spam. Movies have to work in at least one spam scene to reach the broadest audience. People break up and get divorced because they don't exchange enough spam. Soldiers are given time out to go have some spam. Low-risk prisoners are given spam visiting rights. People die for spam. Entire economies have been based around spam. Selling spam is the world's oldest profession. The lack of spam has been linked to mental disorders. The only thing getting teenagers through difficult puberty is the thought of one day getting to have spam of their very own. It's just tinned meat, guys."

Anti-homosexuality is a funny kind of prejudice. I don't get why I should care what someone else does that doesn't effect me in any way. So long as it doesn't hurt anyone, I say it's absolutely fine. Homosexuality, as far as I can tell, has never hurt anyone.
And yet many a homosexual and transgender person has been beaten and murdered.

A sickening irony.
Fear of the unknown, disgust towards unfamiliar behavior. It's happened throughout history.
I think this video is appropriate for what you said.

Easy. I am straight and that is how I will be. Other people who are not straight and that is who they will be. As long as we understand this, there isn't a problem.

I just don't understand Bi-sexuals, I mean how can you not have a peference?
Nice profile pic, The Maxx was my favorite comic growing up.

But I'd argue that saying one is bisexual isn't stating a complete lack of preference. I'm not bisexual myself but I know a couple of self-identified bisexuals, both have a 'preferred' sex that they enjoy the company of, but have no problem swinging the other way.

I prefer short gals, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't ever date a tall gal.

My girl friend is Bi, and trust me it's awesome. :3

Over all? I have no problem with Bi and Gay people. I find it silly that some people do have a problem with it.

Oh god I hate that video. Saddest thing ever! Not only has sexuality been something of a question mark for me for a long time, I've also attempted suicide. The first time I saw that I got all choked up and teary eyed, lol.

Brave dude.

Rape isn't sex, so no.

If someone thinks rape is at all like sex, in any way, they need to do some more research.

One of the great myths about sexuality is that people are usually black or white, or even that it stays the same. Sexuality is a giant gray area that is in many ways situational. I find it odd that people can be proud of their own or hate another when it's such an intangible idea, far more meaningless than even patriotism or political beliefs. "Homosexual" and "heterosexual" are such limiting words that limit how people approach the topic by making us think that there are only two paths when really there are none. "Bisexual" isn't much better, but that's a very different story. We'd be better off without the labels.

Correct. Rape is non-consenting sex. What it isn't is sex.

What's boxing? Assault? Battery? No. It's boxing.

actually, it is. Boxing is consensual assault and battery. For sport.

Sex is not like boxing however, in that Sex is not something which is automatically consensual. Sex is short of "Sexual Intercourse", in which two partners usually exchange bodily fluids. Any extension of this definition is a version of a sex.

People do what they want, I don't care.

Kaz Helberd said:
I think people are conditioned into their sexuality based on external (and in some RARE cases) internal stimuli.

Biologically the 'Default' orientation is 'straight' (hence the term "straight") but depending on how one was raised, who their parents are, and what they're exposed to, that can change.

Being gay isn't natural, but it also isn't a 'terrible' thing... More or less it's an expression of your past experience, and what you have come to find appealing in a mate.

Girls want to marry their fathers, and boys want to marry their mothers.

It can also be like "Goth" or "Nerd" or "Jock", what have you. Goths tend to gravitate toward other Goths, etc. once together, they sort of feed of each other, and become more exaggerated versions of themselves.

I believe homosexuality is no different.

(I don't mean to equate homosexuality to a fad, but merely conditional behavior)
A load of animals sometimes engage in homosexual sex. So....

People can do whatever they want, just along as people (yes I've had some people do it) don't go 'I'M (Bi, gay, lesbian ect.) AND YOU MUST ACCEPT IT BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH IT'

But, besides that. Go nuts!
