Skyrim is the most overrated game to exist anywhere and every single fanboy pushed people that would say the same into into the "Its a great game [small]please don't send me billions of hate mail...[/small]" The only thing it had going for it was hype and the same can be said for Mass Effect 3 but the fans of Mass Effect 3 at least say "Well its not perfect but this is what makes it a good game" while Skyrim or Elder Scrolls fans in general go "NOPE, SHUD UP ITS A PERFECT GEM!" without offering a reason.
If you want a list of problems I have with it, here.
- Bards guild quests, after returning their instruments you still have their instruments.
- Dragons clip through the world.
- Dragons fly backwards and then clip through the world.
- Some quests un-achievable or your not able to complete a quest because of a bug.
- Piss easy combat.
- Bland color palette. I'm sticking by this till the end, each area looks so terribly generic and bland and none of it sticks out. The elven town looks like a generic elven town, same goes for the human town. Compare Skyrim to say Kingdoms of Amaluar and you'll get my drift. If your going to go generic then make generic look good.
- RPG breaking things such as being able to eat 90 cheese wheels in a battle without any repercussions.
- NPC's still treat you like a peasant despite being lord of bloody everything.
- Terrible writing.
- Terrible acting.
- To many humans.
and the way they could make it better.
- Release games that are more glitch free.
- Stop making more glitches with patches and properly test patches.
- Make a interesting world to weave a story into, not a story to weave a place into. If you do the latter the place that the story takes place in will not be that interesting.
- Make NPC's notice the player's actions, not that hard.
- Properly test your game.
- Better combat such as a slightly more action game version or a completely different system, right now it might as well be turn based.
-Bug. (fixed.)
-Bug. (fixed.)
-Bug. (fixed.)
-Bug. (I'm not sure which you mean. But most likely fixed. Or pretty rare in the first place, considering I only ever heard that from two or three people who played the game.)
-Agreed. The combat is pretty easy.
-You obviously have no idea what you're talking about at all. There is no "Elven town" or a "human town". Each city (barring the orc strongholds. Those all look about the same, but they're irrelevant.) is visually distinct, with different climates, building materials, typical color palates, et cetera.
-Rpg standard. Silly, but there it stands.
-Yeah. But that would mean new lines for every title, new voice acting for those lines, getting the triggers to work without issues, and so on. Not as easy as you say.
-Opinion you're allowed to have. Though I'd like you to give me some lines you feel are bad, some are mediocre but I've never heard any that are outright bad.
-Same as above. Except there are some pretty bad voices for some, but not prevalent enough to bother most people.
-Skyrim is the homeland of the humans on Tamriel. And you complain that there's too many? I have no idea what to say. Besides that it's the single silliest thing I've heard all day.
And things I enjoy about Skyrim:
-Lots of lore if you feel like digging. (which I do.)
-Massive open world.
-Playing with the shouts is amusing.
-The new combat systems they've added (duel wielding, archery refinements, magic and melee together, etc.) work well and are fun.
-Dragons. I'm always a fan of cliched fantasy dragons. (Personal weakness of mine.)
-Lots to do. Quest lines, exploration, dungeon delving, banditry.
It's your opinion are you're allowed that, but don't claim Skyrim fanboys never give a reason to enjoy it. I would reply to your list of improvements, but three of them are the same, and pretty hard to disagree with at that, two are just wrong, and the other is an opinion I agree with. So...
OT: "There are worse things to be than a Nazi." I walked out of the room when someone said that yesterday.
My unacceptable opinion is that everyone is allowed an opinion about everything. If you don't know what you're talking about, shut your goddamn mouth. (ie, most people who ever said anything about the LHC, uninformed pro- anythingers, and especially people who try to debate politics without any kind of information except headlines.) So sue me.
Lets get into why I don't like Microsoft too. They charge a lot for the wireless interenet connectors and my original 360 shortly broke from a disc-reader malfunction, so now its a brick.
While here, yes, Skyrim fanboys, before and even after launch gave no reason to like it other then "IT WOOK PREETY! PC ELITISTS MUST UPGADE SYSTEM TO RUN!" Which was wrong for 2 reasons.
1) Bland, looks generic since the earliest concept art.
2) And most systems could run it very easily without hundreds of dollars of new stuff.
Let me elaborate to a shorter list.
1) Generic RPG experience that is so bare bones that it is shameful. If a game like Deus Ex Human Revolution or Bastion will notice the little things the player does, why the hell can the peasents not react to anything in Skyrim except for either running away or putting up their dukes. Humans have more then cowardness and yelling. You need to portray that.
2) Glitches on launch were so horrible that I could care less about updates. POINT IS THAT THEY WERE THERE AND REAL! If games like Guild Wars 2 have less bugs then Skyrim then Bethesda is lazy. After playing the Beta Weekend Event for Guild Wars 2 last month, it is a fact that it had less glitches in the zones you could get up to [level 20 areas] and is a bigger game overall that Bethesda has no defense except for their own lazy asses. As I said previously, Microsoft is a giant money-sucking whore and as such charge quite a lot for wireless internet for the 360.
3) Generic landscapes. Not much of a opinion because they straight up stole concept art from several places such as the D&D I believe 2nd edition cover or later.\
4) OK, let me point this out to you. If there are no "Elven" or "Human" towns then please explain what there is in the towns hmm? What architecture? If it has nothing like a distinct trait such as the Dwarven towns [god the fucking dwemer] feels exactly like ones done in other fantasies. The whole concept of the "Human" town is everywhere because humans are the most prominent fucking creature. At least in previous games there were more variations then Nord with or without face-paint. Also, the whole "Their all distinct with different traits" is a laugh if anything else. The only place in teh whole
entire game that does not look like where Mr. Snowman jizzed was the heaven place, but even then it looked like a generic meadow.
I'm combining points here but I'd like to point out that where Oblivion took place there were more then 7 or 8 different people of all different races. Go compare the amount in Skyrim to previous Elder Scrolls games then you will see my point.
Under the thought process that SKYRIM = NORD TOWN is like assuming that AMERICA = WHITE PEOPLE COUNTRY which just isn't right. Europe isn't full of people just from britain, Austrailia isn't full of people who were born in Australia and same goes for the Elder Scroll countries, just because X place = homeland does not mean everyone from there are the only ones there. Such a thing as
exploration.
5) Lore is not a bonus because anything can have good lore. Mario has good lore if you read it. Skyrim, as its own game is shit and I'm sticking by this. As the fucking thread points out, its my opinion.
6) Do I have to dignify a response to "Huge Open World" because it isn't huge in comparison to previous games, try again.
7) Haven't played the game in months but a good amount come from people while fighting, they just sound like
"stop punching me tommmm..." instead "YOU FUCKING PRICK, STOP PUNCHING ME!" which is where the language comes into play. Elder Scrolls games offered a huge variety on lines that people say and each was at least decently written, in Skyrim, while more actors is less creativity. Before the lines were cheesy, now their piss.
8) Never said that I was master at coding or programming did I? Lets put it like this, if one man could make Cave Story then a whole production team with hundreds of thousands of dollars could make a functioning game on release.
9) The bug came about as a result of the first patch, which tried to fix dragons flying backwards, instead it made it happen with all dragons and as such they would still clip through everything.
In a whole. If you want to argue my opinion, which you won't change then your wasting your time. Skyrim was released with plenty of game breaking bugs and patches will not remove scars.
Name any game before hand that got about a 7 or 6 for just being buggy and thats the score Skyrim has in my book. Its not something that will ever light the world ablaze and relied soley on hype. Things like animals reporting your crimes left in because its funny is a retarded design philosophy.
Its like looking at Big Rigs Over the Road racing team. ITS FUNNY DAT YOU DRIVE 1000000000 MPH BACKWRDS! THEREFO KEEP! NOW LOOK AT PRON AND SPEND PRODUCTION MONEY ON STRIPPERS INSTOOD OF GAME!
