Seriously people, the PC version has had half as much total time spent playing on it and yet has had roughly four times as many team actions. Are you really suggesting an eight fold difference in the number of team actions is just because PC gamers are 'more team orientated'?
Yes. Since you're mentioning time played you must be using the stats page posted earlier in the thread (otherwise you're pulling numbers out of nowhere because there aren't any Vietnam specific playtime stats). So you either believe that PC players are just better teammates in general than either consoles, or you think PC players have been boosting their stats for absolutely no reason since the release of the game.

On behalf of the die-hard PC gamer community, I would like to take this opportunity to point and laugh. But please, don't feel too badly about it; the numbers are rising quickly and I'm sure that console gamers will be playing "Operation Hastings" any day now. In the meantime, we'll try not to have too much fun without you.

A shame this spin off series can;t be good.... it should be more like TF2 in wit/story/style and less of COD in EVERYTHING.....

Hang on, don't you have to unlock repair tools, ammo boxes, health kits and defibrillators? You did in Bad Company 2. So doesn't that mean that PC gamers were still at a huge advantage for having the game a few days earlier? The only other explanation that seems logical to me is the same reason people can get achievements so quickly on TF2 :p.

I'm not getting sore about this since I don't own the game on any platform, but I find it hard to believe that there's such a huge discrepancy purely because PC gamers are 'more team friendly'. Especially if the statistic that PC gamers have less time clocked on the game in total is true.
In Vietnam it carries over your rank and stats. So if you have all the medic gadgets unlocked in Bad Company 2 you'll have them all unlocked in Vietnam.
Oh my bad, I didn't know that. I don't really know much about the game at all really apart from what I know about the basic mechanics from Bad Company 2.

Actually no, my point wasn't really built around the statistics used previously. I mentioned them here because I was arguing there's probably more to this than 'PC gamers are teh 1337', an argument that 'hardcore' (ie. insecure) PC gamers will leap on at the drop of a hat, like Nintendo fans leaping on a successful Wii game as an argument that they can still play their console. I wasn't really all that sure of the stats myself, and I didn't look at the web page itself because that wasn't really my point.

Mainly beacause most PC gamers are older (at least more mature at these kind of games, or StraCraft, WoW, etc) and also PLAY THE DAMN OBJECTIVE. NOT "IMMA FIREING MA LAZOR (noobtubes etc)" and actually provide suport in times of need.

PC gaming for life. (though i could have bought a cute car with the money I spent upgrading and stuff >_<)

With all the console-love that's going around, I think it's high time PC gamers had a 'victory' of sorts. Groovy.

Nobody bought battlefield on consoles because it sucks.
Any reason? Or shall I chalk it up as PC elitism?
It doesn't particularly suck on consoles: battlefield just sucks. I'd much rather play CoD, regardless of the hate it gets.

So, you're telling me that in 9 days or so, PC gamers played 54,951,555 hours? Never mind the 89,996,493 hours PS3 players have supposed to have played in that time, or the 94,868,509 hours for 360 players? You're having a laugh mate, that's overall stats [http://www.battlefieldbadcompany2.com/globalstats?platform=pc] you're talking about. Not even Call of Duty can pull that kind of play time in such a short space of time.
Yes, I know. But that shows the general number of players for the games, doesnt it?

The PC has the odds stacked against it and is the only platform capable of stat boosting it's way to victory so it seems overwhelmingly likely that it did.

you're joking right? I understand PC Fanboyism, I even own BFBC2 and vietnam for the PC but this a bit harsh and unesscary.
In fairness, it's pretty staggering how far behind both consoles are. Though I think he was joking, at least a bit :p Really though, this can be broken down quite simply.

In my experience, console gamers and PC gamers, as a general rule, have considerably different mindsets when playing multiplayer games. Because consoles are so widespread and accessible, you'll get a large variety of people who play it. Because of this, you'll get a lot of people who simply don't care about being part of a team (usually kids), and they'll go free for all. On PC, there's usually an older and more mature crowd for most games, so they're more likely to use tactics and work together.
Like Horde v Alliance on WoW. I feel better being on a PC more than ever. Thanks!

Are people really getting this pissy over a little ribbing to the console community? My god, lighten up. It makes me want to toot the PC horn as loud as fucking possible when people start whining.

Then how did they win by such a large margin?
OT
I dont suppose they say how many sales were made to each platform, otherwise it might be a hollow victory, especially as i asume that Bad Company 2 is more popular on the pc.

The fact that, despite having about half the hours played, the PC still has achieved a similar number of team actions to the consoles. I don't think that's solely due to stat boosting, especially considering we're talking from release of Bad Company 2 here.

The fact that dedicated servers aren't available to the public (only available to certain server providers) means I question if there were hacking, unless they were leaked, of course. Don't know if there's a way for listen servers/LAN play, but I doubt it.

Sure, there was good old fashioned "team action only" servers, but that's more organisation than anything else. And again, doesn't explain why the PC levels of team actions are similar to consoles over the life of the game.

My conclusion? PC gamers are more likely to perform team actions than console players.

I blame Gran Turismo 5, that's why we PS3 players are so far behind! (or something equally fanboyish, just for the jokes' sake).

To be honest, and a bit more serious though, I didn't even know 'bout this. I guess I should dust off the ol' copy of BC2, but I got too many other games currently in the loop >_< (both on the PC and PS3).

Oh, and then there's the whole DLC thing... I don't usually buy DLC cause I can't be bothered with stuff that didn't come along with the game in the first place.

Can't help but chuckle at this.

The PC version has the benefit of dedicated servers, meaning more games that involve teamwork instead of people running around randomly not speaking to each other. Plus the higher player count per match(32) means much more people doing stuff.

Plus, with my experience in BC2 on the 360, "teamwork" takes a back seat to "sitting on your ass all day as a sniper, doing nothing for the team".

So yeah.

The Titan matches were the greatest thing to happen to Battlefield in my opinion. Thats all I would really play when I got 2142. Just so damn epic, especially when both Titans are right next to each other, each team assulting the other, commanders trying to balance ground squads with Titan defense and attacking the other Titan.

Just brilliance.

Speaking of which, I really hope they bring back the Battlefield commanders for Battlefield 3.
