Treyarch.
Your problem is underlined.
Exactly what I'm trying to say.
maybe this outsourcing isn't that bad after all.

... on the pessimistic side you can say any game that has the word PC PORT on it is basically doomed.
I agree. If Nissex or whatever they're called just do what they're told, then maybe we'll be fine.

Even so, the only who will be able to tell us for sure, is time.

This was never going to turn out well, people. Keep in mind that the guy in command is not Warren Spector and he doesn't have a clue about Thief and System Shock; therefore, he cannot make a good Deus Ex game.
Your right there, Thief 4 is equally fucked, I once read a quote that the dev in question thoght that Invisible War didn't have enough action.
We. Is. Facked.

Right, so game is developed for console first (not surprising, but still not good), it's being ported to pc by the people who ported amongst other things Tomb the unplayable mess that is Raider Underworld. Well, at least

I was cautiously optimistic, but after the gameplay video and this news, unless I hear specific good news for the pc version, I'm waiting for the bargain bin or a Steam sale...

Unfortunately, most of the games we have today is mostly geared to focus on Console first... I'm quite disappointed to be honest. It is acceptable I guess considering the market situation now, but I hope someone out there finally mastered the art of porting games, or a game engine that allows easy and optimal porting between PC, 360 and PS3...

I challenge for those engineers out there to make porting disaster a myth!!!

the fact that it is being ported by another company is perfectly fine....

the fact that it isnt developed for the PC first and then ported to consoles raises some suspicions however. this seems eerily reminiscent of the direction they took with dues ex 2. id say "youd think theyd learn by now", but ive long accepted that publishers are mentally incapable of such a feat.

It seems like claiming the pc port is "great, just great" and then it turns out to be a big load of bollocks is quite common.

May just save me the money, then.

I remember the Saints Row 2 port far too well... I still have nightmares.

Since the in-house apparently put the PC so low in consideration that they would let another studio handle it completely, perhaps it's a GOOD thing that they aren't the ones doing it?

I cannot wait for this game and I thought I was getting it on the PC so I could nostalgia so hard my brain imploded but there goes that dream. Now I will play it on my xbox and be reminded every step about Invisible War.

Deus Ex 2?
You're confused.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is Deus Ex 2.

Ugh, well I can't say I had high hopes for the game anyhow. Actually I'm just finishing up playing Invisible War and I have to say the game play is easily worse than I remember.

Honestly, so long as the new game keeps the skill system, the large levels (none of this loading screen to enter the coffee shop bull) and the multiple ways to get through the levels of the original I'll be relatively happy. However, I never had much faith in Deus Ex 3, so I'll be waiting and seeing. This news doesn't change much for me.

They did Kane and Lynch 2, not 1.

Granted Kane and Lynch 2 wasn't that great either. Since if you wanted to play on a LAN, you need to use a 360 controller. And this is not mentioned anywhere.

So yeah, things already aren't exactly looking great.
Wait you need a 360 controller to play online on a pc?! How does that... why would they... The Fuck!?!?!

I am completely baffled by this...
Not online, but on a LAN. But yeah, still stupid as hell.
