Not only are they bringing those fucking redundant nurses back, they're gonna be in 3D!
So there's a female protaganist in this movie aswell? I guess that means we'll be watching Sean Bean doing absolutely butt fucking nothing so as not to scare away the male demographic.

Carrie Anne Moss looks creepy as hell with blond hair, that's for sure.
I rather enjoyed the first Silent Hill movie, but it left most of the people I know who saw it and weren't familiar with the video game kind of baffled. That might be a good thing for SH fans, but I don't know that it's good for the film's bottom line.

If they bring back Pyramid Head I swear to god... Also, why are those Nurses back? Other than pandering, what, is Heather a closet lesbian?
I love SH3 and I'm not getting all warm and fuzzy about this, at least they brought in Valtiel otherwise it would've been strange. The first movie didn't wow me, e.i. I didn't like it, and I'm pretty sure this will pan out the same way.

I'm really not confident in the new Silent Hill movie, seeing how the original creators wont be involved and both directing and script will be done by Michael J. Bassett who only has mediocre pictures on his belt.
I hope that I'm wrong but seems rather unlikely since it has 3d in it's title which bring rather horrific associations with the recent Resident Evil 3D.
Anyway I'm still going to see this not only because I'm a huge fan of the good Silent Hill series, but also because:
1. They'll be using the same team of artist form the first movie.
2. I cant wait to see Sean Bean in a larger role this time.
3. I think the casting for Heather was spot on.

The SH3 nurses were updated versions of the Silent Hill 1 nurses with better graphics (and hand guns if I remember right). The reason Cheryl/Allissa/Heather saw them was because she spent a long period of her life in hospital the first time she was forced to birth God.Fiz_The_Toaster said:

Chances are this one is going to suck just as hard, we didn't need the first Silent Hill movie and we don't need the second one. If you want a franchise to brutalize on the big screen make Devil May Cry into a movie, at least the story in DMC sucks already (but I still love the series for the combat) so there's not a hell of a lot that you can really do wrong with it. Either that or have a go at that Halo movie people have been pining for, I personally don't give a crap about that one either, just leave Silent Hill alone, please.
I actually liked the first movie, I thought it was one of the better adaptations of a video game movie.

Kind of sad to see that so many people spouting hate and exasperation in this thread are simply regurgitating Yahtzee's words and have obviously never played SH1. If they had, they'd know that nurses weren't a new addition to the monster roster in SH2.
I'm quite pleased that this movie is finally being made. The first one is still one of my all-time favorite horror flix, and definitely the best game-to-movie adaptation to date.

No I know that, it's just I don't understand why they have to look like that because in the game they didn't. It just irritates me when I see that and there's no explanation to why they did that, maybe they will this time. They look different because they are actors not clusters of polygons. As it is they have something easy for hot girls to cos-play as and that is good for advertizing. They have to hope the movie has bigger audience just then the people who played the games.
But I'm sick of movies with terrible endings I might be giving the first movie too much credit because it I liked the ending.
I give them credit for using actors for those parts, but, for me anyways, I'd rather them use CG since there were a few scenes in the first one where I thought they were trying way too hard to not use it. And, to me, the whole nurse thing is a bit of a cop out to get more people interested in the movie.mcnally86 said:
If they wanted to make a Silent Hill movie I wish they did the Resident Evil approach and not use any of the plots from the games so that it could appeal to more people other than the fans. Otherwise you start to alienate people and piss off fans, myself included, but I will have to wait and see what they did with this one before I can make any sort of judgement calls about the decisions they've made with this movie.
I think I remember seeing pictures of this previously. The Heather Mason they got looks REALLY good, and fits the character really well. It's kind of hard to tell from the one picture here they have, but in her actual costume, she's a perfect fit.
