Oh god, it has to have Trinity in it? All interest generated by Malcom McDowell being in this movie has just been stomped into the dust and spat on.
Even though he hasn't done something good since A Clockwork Orange?
That's not the point. Despite always getting himself cast in crap, somehow Malcolm McDowell manages to maintain that aura of sheer awesomeness about himself. Everything he's in instantly goes up at least one notch because of him.

Without him, the Halloween remake would have been worse than it was. Without him, Fallout 3 would have made me want to kill myself long before it did.

Your opinion is your own, but why the Carrie-Ann Moss hate? =p
Cause I think she's relentlessly annoying and every time I see her on screen I want to slap her. Plus her existence reminds me of The Matrix and god knows I can't keep drinking to forget that series without horrific liver damage.

Wow. Whats wrong with the Matrix? Granted the last two weren't as good as the first, but the first was a great film. =o
I agree the first is amazing. But the memory of it is unfortunately soured because I know that all of that awesomeness is inevitably ruined by bad choices fixed to retarded bullshit pseudo-philosophy.

And then Yahtzee went to find these people to make sure they never destroyed his sacred game.....

Did anyone else have that line ran through their read when they read the title?

My dressed as a silent hill nurse for fancy dress and it was hot. Lead pipe. None of this scalpel jive.

WAIT! THEY HAVEN'T HEARD MY IDEA...

The way that the first Silent Hill film finished (spoiler alert), with his wife lost in Silent Hill etc. set them up perfectly for a skewed version of Silent Hill 2 (i.e., him getting a letter from his dead wife and going there). But NO, they had to go and stamp all over my idea! They've gone and skipped the best game in the series.

...I'll still watch it though...

Excellent, I loved the first one. Probably the best video game movie out there. And though this might cause some rage, one of my favorite things about the movie is that it is NOT loyal to the backstory: They take inspiration and imagery from the video games, and try to build a unique world with a similar feel, and have room to do there own interpretation. That's not being unfaithful, it's being not redundant.

Also, Silent Hill deserved love because it was brave enough to forgo a lot of CGI in favor of making clever costumes. CGI would have been really easy, but instead, they throw a contortionist in a rubber suit with a spitting device and go through some complex choreography to maximize the creepiness. That deserves some kudos.

Sorry, the first movie was shit. The American games were shit. I expect this movie to be shit and I will not be supporting it with my cash.

They're bringing Dahlia Gillespie back? What, are they going to try and make her an even more sympathetic character?

I hope they give Sean Bean more to do this time since his character was pretty pointless in the first movie. I really don't know why they didn't just have him play Harry and leave him as the main character.

Huh. I thought the first one was okay. Creepy--but they could really do without the lame grunts. I hope they don't do that again.

Also, I don't care about some blond model that's probably just a BS character thrown in because she's hot. Heather Mason was actually pretty cool on her own. I liked her.

3D is definitely not necessary.

Also.

Jon Snow: Haha, this place ain't got nothing on the White Walkers.

Silent Hill: That can be arranged.

Jon Snow:.......eep.

Okay, O lucky Man is on my list of movies to see along with Caligula. Thanks for another recommendation.
Cant say anything negative about O Lucky Man, but do yourself a favor and skip Caligula. The only "mindfuck" involved is that the film is more of a porno than a film. Hell it was even produced by Penthouse. As a film the constant endlessly droning sex is too much of a distraction, and as a porno its ineffective due to all the "shock" value put in to make it seem more artistic than a porno. I think the only real purpose to watching Caligula is to prove that Malcom Mcdowell will basically do anything on film for money. Which is part of the reason why there are so few good examples of work he has done over the last 30+ years.

Do yourself a favor. It is one worth skipping.
