I live in the desert, so I'm going to with Sandshrew.

I live in a small town aurrounded by forests and the ocean/sea so I have a very big selection. I know that in the world of pokemon bulbasaurs are rare but I'd wait 'till I find one. Otherwise maybe a Farfetch (we got loads of birds of very different types here). Really I can't chose -.-

OT: Well, let's see...I live in a mountain valley, complete with a nearby lake. Plus, I've got suburbs and forests... Plus, on the other side of the mountains, there's deserts and plains...There's even an active volcano or two within driving distance...Oh snap! But, okay, seriously, I'd start with a Ralts and work it into a Gardevoir or a Gallade, depending on the gender.

Ponyta for Pinkie. Rapidash for Twilight. She did turn into a flaming unicorn, after all.

Hmm. I live in Iceland, and despite the name, not much ice is around here. But I do live near the ocean...

Maybe catch a Magikarp, so I can eventually get a Gyarados? Or maybe a Squirtle. Either one.

I'm gonna go with Dratini or Dragonair. Then I will have a Dragonite in no time flat.

You and me both, brother. Dratini and its evolutions are awesome. If there are no Dratini at the bottom of my lake, then I'll go out to the grasslands and snag a Growlithe.

Either a Magikarp from the river, wander around the "prairie" to hopefully find an Eevee or a Vulpix, or to a cemetery/old house for a Gastly.

Beldum. Definetely. I have no clue where they live, but chances are it is near me since I have a river, a forest, a pond, and a city within close distance of my house.

Edit:

Tropius. To me he would be the most useful Pokemon to actually own.

It can Fly, it can help move heavy objects, it can just live outside since as a plant it can feed itself, it grows it's own fruit for food.

Tropius just plain rocks.

This would have been my first choice, but time makes fools of us all.

I live near a bush, which i choose to accept as a Forrest, and as such I'd grab either a Ralts or Kirilia.

Very powerful at higher levels, strong against many things. PP UPs or PP Max it's Psychic once it learns it, spend cash on a Thunderbolt TM.
Plus, female Gardevoir. Yes plz.

And i'm set. Let me loose on the world so i can win some money.
