I would "borrow" a pistol or some fire arm, walk all the way to Sky Pillar in Hoenn, and shoot Rayquaza's body just enough to make it pass out, then capture it. Then RUN back to the pokecenter.

I'm gonna go out down by my river straight away to catch a Snivy (it's really overgrown and grassy down there)
Snivies are awesome; they are really intelligent! Also, I've always been fascinated by the notion of a living plant and what it would be like to have one as a pet.

An Eevee maybe, they like the city right? If not i'll head out to the desert and catch a Scraggy, or a sandile.

Lots of wild cats around, so likely a Meowth, but also some interesting birds (there is a cardinal I see regularly) so maybe a Tailow.

I live by downtown LA, but there's a hill above my apartment with some tall grass. I bet some Pidgeys live up there.

There's a large park right next to my house, so maybe I'd get lucky and find an Absol. Maybe. Hopefully...Possibly? :(

If that fails, Pichu's are rodents...they live anywhere, right? One of them.

I'd love to have a Lapras, and there's a huge lake within driving distance. I might be able to find one there, though I'm not sure if Laprases live in lakes, or only in oceans. If it's limited to just walking distance, I would probably go for an Emolga (flying electric squirrel) or Pachirisu (regular electric sqirrel), seeing as there are plenty of trees around.

I live near a creek fed by a storm drain outlet, which seems like the ideal spawning ground for Grimer. Then comes Muk, the most badass pile of sentient sewage ever.
