So... I have the following to choose from:

Mice, maybe (Pikachu is an electric rat, iirc)
Bugs. Insects bug me (buh dum dish)
Birds, perhaps, usually had a Pidgey or the owl from Gold/Silver with me in the games,

Could I turn my dog into a pokemon and just use it? She's a pretty awesome boxer, and I would be able to keep her out the ball, since she is also very obedient and friendly

I live in the city so i would probably catch a pichu. I love pichu, they are so cute. I would get one for economical reasons as well. He would be the main power source in my house. yay no electrical bill. XD

Oh god I got a ton of options then - got long grass, some forest, streams and farmland

Maybe a Ponyta from one of the numerous farms for fast transport
Or maybe a Vulpix since there's a ton of foxes in my area...with one living on my street
Or a Poliwag since there's a lot of tadpoles in the streams
OR maybe a Beedrill from the forest areas...

DAMN you for making me choose - I'll stick with the Ponyta till someone invents more pokeballs

I'd have to go with either a buneary or a ralts. Both locations to find them in are around where I live. If I couldn't find one then I'd go for a magikarp. of course considering that I'm in America I wouldn't be able to find buneary or magikarp so ralts it is.

wow. I'm such a nerd for realizing that.

Might wanna evolve it first since Pichu hurts itself when making electricity (seem to remember that from somewhere)- that'd be like torture slavery

Hmm... I live an hour away from the mountains, can I go there and get a delibird? Or does it have to be in the direct area where I live? If so, I would head to the nearby semi-swamp ish area and get a mudkib

Don't you need at least 1 pokemon already to fight the guy down to low enough health to ball him?

I suppose I would either fight magicarp or the cacoon dude, since neither one could fight back or bother me. I'd just walk up and pick them up while they were flailing/hardening.

Only areas around my house are a lake and a somewhat large group of trees.

Totodile would definitely be my first choice, but if the lake was too polluted to find anything but Magikarp and Feebas, I'd head to the trees and go Treecko-Trapping.

I'd take a drive down to the forest and try to find some cliffs at night. Apparently Beldum anchor themselves to cliffs at night to sleep. Metagross ftw.

I'm sure you have a factory, cemetery, or abandon building in your area! I mean you could fight a pokemon but it would probably be your funeral considering they can shoot lightning, sharp leaves of death, and throw flaming punches at you :p
There's like a warehouse bit, and a few parks/commons... There's also a cemetary, but... ermm... I kinda buried one of my friends there already.

And I'm fairly sure that I could blow them up. How do team rocket go around catching pokemon if they're so deadly? Use a net and stuff :p. Hell I can dig a tiger pit, or make a snare or something.

Besides in the cartoons people always get away FINE, or with a few scratches. Hell pikachu CONSTANTLY shocks Ash. I'd find a way around it.

All Nidoran has is a poisonous horn and really sharp teeth, so maybe trap it as said before, or use a bo staff. If it's really fast, then deal with it like a wild boar - use an elevated platform.

When there's a will, there's a way XD.

And before you say it, yes I'd probably fail against: Flying, rock, and ghost pokemon as I'm restricted to normal/physical attacks (and be weak against bug, poisonous, and psychic for some reason). *thinks for a bit* Then again there's no reason to graze my knuckles on rock/steel with the existence of power tools.

Quick one: Lightning - use tesla cage + firearm
Sharp leaves - wear tough leather, or body armour etc depending on sharpness
Flaming punches - complete my SAS coverall set that's fire proof, then douse myself in fire retardant, then figure out how it fights and possibly stay in blind spots, and using every trick in the book ;P
As for stuff like Koffing, I already have a fully functioning respirator literally TO HAND here. The rest of the CBRN suit is at the barracks though, but I can always sneak one away.

Most weaker pokemon can be captured by an ultra ball without weakening them. That or throw rocks at him.

Since I live in the city, I'd catch a pidgey, or I'd go to the municipal parts and get me an electabuzz. I'd probably go with the latter.

Porygon always appears in Casinos in the games, right? Good, because there are loads of little gambling dens where I live.

I live in the woods...so it would be grass, bug, or normal...maybe ground.

So, of the ones I could think of (that I would want), I could get a Pinsir, Scyther, Pidgey, Diglet, Mankey, Eevee, and maybe a Mareep.

If Mareep is allowed, I would go with it, just because electric's are boss, and his final evolution (Ampharos) is as cool as a Pokemon can be.

Check out this guy.

EDIT: I would also try and find a Dratini, so I could eventually get a Dragonite. WHY?
