I watched the first and second seasons growing up and loved them, I was a huge poke'freak like everyone else thanks to him. But sadly, my love of pokemon is dying, I'm simply too old and the appeal has completely worn off, I may just play Heartgold today though to honor this poor man who shaped the childhood of so many kids around the world.

Awww...shit. And I was having a good day, too.

He was with the show until 2002? What point was that in the show? Late Johto?

Makes more sense to be linking the original Japanese version of the opening, imo.

Depends. In Japan, Hoenn started as early as September in 2002.

wow... sad... Pokemon was probably the first thing that really got me into being a nerd... in fact at age 19 i still have a poster with the original Pokemon hanging on my wall... more cause i'm to lazy to take it down but still... Though i never knew his name till now he was an iconic figure in my childhood and he will be missed

I feel guilty that I never knew his name until now.

Rest in peace Mr Shudo, may all your Pokemon wishes come true in the afterlife. Hey, maybe there are a couple of Charmanders in heaven or something?

That's sad. I really loved the first season of the TV series, and still play the games today.

Takeshi Shudo, you will be missed.

R.I.P. Also thank you for some of the best anime ever. The first season was all I would watch. Thank you for the awesome episode where James buys a magikarp in a golden ball.

A SubAriados Hemorrhage!

It's such a shame, he was responsible for those first few episodes that added a dimension of magic to the Pokemon universe for me as a young adolescent.

RIP Mr Takeshi Shudo. :(

I loved Pokemon back in the day, still do actually. It was the first anime I ever saw. It's what got me into the genre, so thank you good sir, thank you.

Rest in peace, Mr. Shudo.

Even though you didn't know it, you have influenced, and still influence, my life. I tip my hat to you.
