It's gotta be subs, english speaking characters just sound so annoying and stupid and they never get the right air to the character in the first place anyway.

Either im happy with a good dub but they tend to be a bit of a mixed bag obviously there are great ones like afro samurai but sometimes they are less than savoy or none existent

My hierarchy: poor dubs->subs->good dubs. The exception is if the original voices and/or language are especially important to the series, and thus a dub can't conceivably do it justice no matter how good.

I prefer subbed, but there are two animes I watched in dub. Death Note and Outlaw Star. Death Note because I felt the English voice acting was great, and I wanted to be able to understand the series quicker than reading, and Outlaw Star because the English dub was equally good, and I had seen it first in English.

This is completely dependent on how good the localisation is. With an anime such as bo x7, the English localisation is phenomenal, and I couldn't imagine watching it any way other than dubbed. Other animes however, are dubbed terribly. As such, I can't vote either way in the poll because it completely depends on the anime.

Depends. I don't watch a whole lot.
Subs have awkward sentence structures half the time because the translators have awful English skills. They also subject me to freakin' nails-on-a-blackboard anime girl voices.

Dubs mostly suffer from awkward wording (they speak... poshly) and wierd pauses in order to fix the lip flaps. The voice actors also try too hard to immitate the annoying sounding Japanese girls which is equally annoying... oh and everyone seems to speak wierdly as though they're talking backwards, putting more emphasis on the end of the word rather than the start.

Except Black Lagoon for some reason, as far as I can remember for the most part they speak like actual people with no wierd speech patterns, out of place accents (Did every anime villan go to Eton?), wierd pauses or out of place words.

TL;DR: They're both as bad as each other if you average them out.

Depends on the anime. I prefer dubs, but if the VAs are particularly bad, I'll swap to subs.

I don't watch that much anime but I like subtitles better than a crappy voice actor.

Only shows I've watched dubbed are DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Tenchi Muyo. Everything else is subbed.

Both. Dubs arent all bad, its just the fucking weeaboos who contantly whine about them and don't even bother to give them a chance. For all we know the japanese voice acting could be considered bad but seeing as its not a language thats native to us we probably can't tell the difference.
I completely Agree i only watch subs if the series hasn't been dubbed or if it is just absolutly awful, My example 4Kids One Piece ^_^

Mostly dubbed. I've just not found alot of animes that are subbed. Yes, the voices sometimes can get a little annoying, but i'm usually more focused on events than little details like that...

...unless it is REALLY bad.

Subbed, mostly because they arent afraid to let the sereis be dark and the dub voices are just painful to listen too.

Argh, dubs get me so riled up. I have yet to hear a good one - they're always so substandard and bastardised. Subs all the way, for me at least.

Dubbed. But that's only because of Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Otherwise I tend to lean towards subbed.
