Not played the beta, not really invested much time in reading into the game at all. But I've got nothing else to play at the moment, and I'm dreading the thought of having to start yet another fucking slow arse campaign in Civ5 with my mates. Plus, if I dont like it, I can always trade it in in two weeks time for either FIFA or NHL.

Interesting, I thought Halo 4 was one of the better single player campaigns because of all the elements it took from the novels. As someone who's read most of the novels it was joy to see a Halo game that felt like it was part of the same universe as the novels rather than some separate entity.Rainbow_Dashtruction said:

You seem to have misconception about Betas. A game doesn't changes much from Beta to RC. If you liked the Beta I'm certain you will like the RC. Though I have to agree that the Destiny Beta was less like a Beta and more like a Demo.Aaron Sylvester said:

In some capacity, the boyfriend and I will probably get it, but I suspect that he'll want to get it on one of the new consoles. Thing is, I don't really think that he'll buy a new console for one game (there's maybe one game that exclusive to either console that either off us are interested in). I think he's leaning to the PS4, but since the XBone has gotten rid of all that crap no one wanted, and we already rock the 360 [accounts carry over], there's a chance he'd go for it.
Then again, the beta played fine on the 360, so may just get it there.

So, I have to post in this thread after seeing the fucking Destiny commercial with ZEPPELIN music. You have to shell out a HUGE amount of money to use a Zeppelin song. I'm guessing Destiny is going to have to sell around 10 million to even turn a profit. The amount of money spent on production (graphics, voice actors, etc.) and the marketing is just through the roof.
I'm going to predict Destiny is going to end up being huge failure and being the biggest example of why the AAA game industry can't make money (it will be featured on the Jimquisition). I also predict Destiny is going to end up being another Titanfall, it will enjoy good initial sales and popularity, but it will be forgotten shortly afterwards as I played the Alpha and the game is just boring, the powers and skill trees are so underwhelming, just not nearly as interesting and fun as Borderlands while also lacking the charm and humor Borderlands. I'm not saying the game will flop as I predict an easy 3-5 million sales but it's going to need more than that to turn a profit, thus it will be a failure. Plus, it's a game that will require a lot of post-launch support (so even more $$$) as it is an MMO.

I've heard this is online only and that coupled with the fact that it's primary focus is online multiplayer so my interest is...well, start digging now and I'll let you know when you get to it. If this game had an offline, single-player mode I may be more interested but I still see this as a new flavor of Halo and I'm just completely Halo'd out after the 4th failed to captivate me like Reach.

Hey, I watched the Angry Joe video thing that he put up! Destiny looks like what you would get if Bungie was commissioned to make Borderlands. I didn't like Borderlands and the weapons in Halo have felt under-powered to me since the second one so the gameplay I saw looked like it would be overly drawn out when you're not in a vehicle. It's just not my thing so I'm going to pass, even if you can play the thing offline.

I didn't like any Halos (don't judge), Destiny doesn't intrigue me and I don't have console (except my 360, but hey, PC Master Race, and it's not coming out for PC). So, no. If it was released on PC, I might have thought about it.
EDIT: Just learned it's an MMO. I'm a bit out of the loop with this game. I generally don't like MMOs. I find them all to be grindy after a few days. And also, the player reception so far is meh.

I'm not all that interested in it, and I don't even have a platform to play it on. If I somehow happen to inherit a next-gen console, maybe I'll consider picking it up. I'm still a little sore about their treatment of Marty, though, which lowers the chance of my purchase to "very low."
I looked into it until I saw that whole bit about a single player meshed into an MMMO-ish/ Borderlandish/ Quasi-Mass Effect-ish hybrid slant to it too....

I'm good. I won't knock anyone whom likes that sort of thing but not for me.
Also, I don't think I can get into it's art style either with each character basically looking the same.

AAA games can make lots of money but its just seems to me that any game with a large amount of marketing $$$ behind it seems to be a per-cursor to a bad failure. Its like its an ultimate sign that there is definitely something wrong with it so they have to use psychological forces to promote the game for gamers to buy.
I think what these guys making this type of medium need to understand is that you can't simply sell something for grinding and multi-player purposes only.... you need to be creative and add something extra to get everyone into it. This ditching of a cohesive story people like to follow is in my view, a big mistake.

In all seriousness, not really. It looks interesting and like something I could get into, but not immediently interesting enough for me to do any research on it.

Haha, nice. Bayonetta 2 is BY FAR my most anticipated game of 2014 and I don't even have WiiU, but I'll have to get one at some point. Bayonetta was my favorite game of last gen and I wasn't even much into the genre before playing it. I just loved the dodge offset mechanic. I'm really shocked other hack and slash games haven't incorporated the mechanic into their games, it's just so great not having to restart combos, even a block offset would work.Inglorious891 said:Oh, what's that? I've got to say I caved in and bought it, mainly because I have no games to play at the moment for my PS4, and my rig is dead (RIP).
First impressions are positive, I played the first couple of missions solo and it was a solid game. Then I partied up with a couple of other guys and have been playing through the story missions and it has made the game so much better.
I'm currently 3 hours in and level 8 out of a maximum of 20 so leveling goes pretty quick, it seems like the story missions are just a tutorial and the game is trying to get players quickly to 'end game content'. This isn't to say that the story missions are easy, it does start to get pretty challenging and boss fights require teamwork to get through.
I think this game will live or die based on its end game, so it will be interesting to see how that goes when I get there. If the end game content is shit and the leveling is as fun as it has been, I will still have gotten my money's worth from the game.
