So yes, it's why even though I got really good at CSS back when I played it I never got many kills.

I've taught myself to wait until it's actually clear, the ammo runs out or just to always use a shotgun.

Every time I kill an enemy, if I get a split second I'll attempt a reload. I often get caught in the act and it costs my life.

Every single bloody kill, back when I played Soldier in TF2. I've since switched to Pyro, so I can't compulsively reload anymore.

After every kill, which has gotten me killed a few times... Probably also the reason why I can't get into Mass Effect.

I had an interesting idea about this (well i thought it was anyway :eek:p). It goes a little like this.

In games when you reload and you don't have an empty mag you just throw away the mag you just took out and load a new one. Now if you play online you have probably been in a situation where you are out of ammo and the only way to get more is to die or pick up a gun from a dead enemy. What about if you could pick up the thrown away mags? They wouldn't be full (they might be very close to it though depending on when the previous owner chose to reload) but if they had rounds left and they were the same as the ones for your gun you could use that mag. So in essence you would have your normal ammo at spawn and then as you move around the level you can pick up like up to 4 ejected mags that players have dropped. And you use these when you run out of your spawn ammo.

Yeah, thanks to CS:S. Bad Company 2 is helping me detox though, the medic's machine guns really help combat compulsive reloading.

yes i am. even if i only used a few rounds i will still reload. You never know who/what you will need to kill next, or how many bullets it will take. I'd rather be prepared than dead.

I used to be a really bad one, but I've discovered new and interesting ways to keep my ammo up without reloading in seconds between killing enemies.

Like switching weapons.

ProTip for the Modern Warfare Gamers: You do remember that your pistol is still there, every time, every game, and that it's faster to switch to your pistol then it is to reload, right?

Trust me. Next time you're playing, if you're killing enemies without a silencer on, get your kill and then switch weapons. Someone is gonna pop around the corner, and then you can unload on their face faster then they can bring their weapons up. THEN find cover, reload your pistol, reload your main weapon, and get back too it.

Good luck out there, happy fragging.

Nope. Reloading after every kill is really stupid. Especially because you are very likely to engage a second person after a kill.

The worst thing to happend to you in an FPS is if you compulsivity reload when you're carrying an LMG. God, the reload times on those things...

In TF2, I have my game set to auto-reload every time I take a shot. Mind you, you can shoot mid-reload in that game.

I tend to reload during pauses in action to limit the number of reloads I need to do mid-combat in left 4 dead

Yup I definately compulsively reload. Still, I get a few good knife kills in counterstrike source due to people doing the same thing, love seeing them panic.

Always. In any safe zone I will reload, even if only 2 bullets have been fired. I've had kills that have required the full magazine so those 2 bullets can mean the difference between life or death. I have sleight of hand on all my CoD classes so I don't get caught out as much as others, if I do I just pull out my pistol and fire it with my surprisingly fast trigger finger.

Yes I am. And one of the reasons I like tf2 is due to the auto reload function. (even though I bash "r" every time after a shot)
Also, reloads can be interrupted in tf2. which causes non deaths

Every time i shoot, even if its just one bullet, cant help it. Battlefield and OP Flashpoint screwed me with that too with not counting total bullets but mag numbers
