I spell it as colour. Although I guess it's because I was raised in N.Ireland and was taught to spell it that way during my school days.
In Australia we spell it 'colour'. Though, in Australia we speak a very bastardised form of their language, or so say my English mates.Gerrawn said:The Brits say colour. Their language, their rules.

Also, it really doesn't matter how you spell a word. There is no "proper" way to spell anything, it is just implicitly decided by the society. As I foresee it, slang words like "dat" "dis" "wen" "lol" will become accepted part of the English language, and they will be slangs no more.
You seem to know everything.Kinda like me.But I was programmed to do so.Kortney said:Fun fact: Australians pronounce it "cull-a" due to their inability to pronounce the r on the end of words. Water is "war-ta" runner is "run-ah" and colour is "cull-a".
Funner fact: Singer in Australian would be "sing-ah", however here in Manchester in England it would be "sin-ga". WOOOOOW

I honestly don't know. Same reason we call "football" "soccer", I suppose, which also confuses my friends since I say "football". xDRMcD94 said:Question: To those of you who use USAmericanised English, please explain to me the reasoning behind removing u from colour, o from foetus, etc.
