Poll: Comparing penises in the shower.

I'm pretty sure that only happens on television and in movies. If my school had actually had showers for use after gym class I wouldn't have done any comparisons.

I've heard about it. We had showers at my school but no one ever used them after gym class. They were mainly only there for after football practice I believe. As for regular gym class no.

There is always jokes about having a larger penis the better and accusing others of having smaller ones, but actually comparing them? Never happened to me. At the YMCA I just keep my swimming trunks on. I see no reason to shower naked in large groups, and this is coming from a sembisexual. I'll walk naked around my apartment when no one is there, but there is no reason locker rooms should be lawless areas full of nudity. Now, send me to a nude beach where the ratio isn't all guys, and I'll be happy to get naked.

But as far as comparing size? The only friend I had who wanted to compare sizes had the smallest penis I had ever seen anywhere in my life. I did compare sizes with some friends one time when I was somewhat wasted, and I was pleased with the results. From what I've seen, actually comparing in the shower doesn't really happen.

There are a few reasons why this just doesn't happen:

o First and most important, no-one (not even gay boys) want to seem "gay". What could be a more "gay" suggestion than "let's compare penises!"?
o Second, every boy has a secret fear that they're not as big as they think they are, and seeing another boy's... er, boy, would make it undeniable if it turned out to be true.
o Third, and the most practical reason... when they're flaccid (which one would hope they were), penises are almost exactly the same size. You'd have to look really close to see any difference, and I would hope that would not be necessary.

I think it's usually just an urban legend. If I found out tomorrow that straight girls really do compare breast sizes, I might start some research on the subject, but here in reality these things don't happen that often. The triple whammy of seeming "gay", discovering you're small and the difficulty of measuring while flaccid make it very unlikely.

I've been on a high school football team, had a year long gym membership, and spent 6 months in USMC recruit training, and i've never even heard of this going on.

It's just classic sexual misinformation. Like 90% of the other stuff people think about it.

I have no idea. But let me just say, I used to compare my boobs to the others. So I can understand why guys would do this.

I have seen hundreds of women do this, but I've never been a part of a penis comparison nor have I seen one.

And honestly, the kind of guy who deeply cares about the size of his wang is also probably the kind of guy who believes looking at a penis makes you a homosexual, and, being the ignorant fool he is, is terrified of the very thought. So the entire scenario seems pretty unlikely to me.

Practically whenever we had a sex-ed class, there was some reference to the claim that boys compare willies, quoting it as an absolute truth. There is one image that stands out in my mind: It was a drawing of a bunch of naked kids standing in a circle, exclaiming things like "So tiny" "So hairy" etc.

Of course guys don't do this. I've literally never known of any guy ever doing this ever except in ridiculous American movies. Yes, I'm a guy. No, I don't care about other guys' penises.

I've known some of the rugby guys to behave in a, ahem, 'homo-erotic' fashion, but I think even they'd draw the line at directly staring at another man's nob whilst proclaiming "So hairy!"

I was always told this would happen yeah, but there never was any showers in any of our schools, we just carried on with our day.

Maybe It's a mistranslation. I was told that what we call "Gym" - where we exercise, play basket or do some running or pushups or something - was called P.E. - short for physical education - in English-speaking countries.

And yes, after sweating for an hour or two, we take a shower before we go on with our day at school.
I thought that was pretty common practice. I certainly wouldn't want to walk around school soaked in sweat for the rest of the day.

After Gym class (or PE if you prefer) we just reapplied deodorant and put our normal jeans back on and went about the rest of our day.
