About 6 years of French lessons, and I know less than I used to. At least I used to be able to say "Sorry, I can't speak French" in french.

Dutch (yay!) English and a bit of German. I did follow mandatory classes in french in highschool, but I banned it from the inner parts of my psyche.

Danish, english and a little spanish.

In Denmark, apart from the elderly, I would consider anyone who grew up normally and didn't speak english, to be a tool.

Well lets see, I know Java, C++, C#... oh you mean spoken languages. Then no, just English.
haha i wasn't even thinking about this, but it is true technically, and me and my friends sometimes do nerd speak in java..so why not? it's a language, it has "grammar" technically.
//Very much true

if(java.isALanguage() && syntax.equals(grammar)){
you.geekPoints++;
}

In a globalized world it's a very big necessity to know several languages English, Spanish and French (as i do) but with the recent emerging/exploding economies, languages like Chinese, Portuguese, Russian among others are a new opportunity...

Polish, as I'm from Poland, of course.
Then there's English, which I'm quite fluent at.
And finally, German. Not quite good, but still communicative.
I'm planning on learning Japanese, as I'd like to know some non-european language, plus I like Japanese culture altogether.

and I even understand Skånska! Shut up, IT ISN'T SWEDISH! IT'S AN ABOMINATION AND NOT WORTHY OF BEING CALLED A SWEDISH DIALECT!!! xD

Faktiskt mest stockholmare. De har ett ÄNNU värre uttal. ^^

English, Russian and Hebrew.
Russian parents and live in Israel so that's where the second two come from. English is quite a must in today's world I believe.

I know English, German, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. I can read and understand Pennsylvania Dutch pretty well, but can't really speak it. I'm studying French now too.

English, Turkish, and a bit of French.

I'm in the US, if that makes a difference. I'd hope not, but I've met way too many people who can barely speak English correctly, let alone any other language.

Or just sign up to be an interpreter, then the military will PAY YOU just to learn a language. And yes, Spanish is available. BUT DON'T PICK FARSI. I can't stress enough how much it sucks to learn.
It must suck to learn, but you'd never have to worry about job security - we're going to be needing Farsi interpreters for a long time. Honestly, either that, Arabic, or Mandarin are probably your best bets if you're going to learn a language and you're seeking a career. Only problem is, they're all really hard...and Mandarin is supposed to be the hardest language on the planet.
