Poll: Do you like the Jim Inquisition show?

Marginalizing opposite viewpoints, completely disregarding any merit a differing idea may have, and being blatantly rude about it in the process has never really appealed to me. So no, I can't say I'm the biggest fan.

The thing with Sterling is that he really does have some solid ideas and arguments, but you have to wade through so much bull-headed BS to get to it that oftentimes it's not worth it. At least, in his videos you do. Somehow his writing is much less grating than his appearances on camera, so I enjoy reading his articles on Destructoid but don't particularly enjoy watching his videos.

I'll watch it if I see a link to it. It's not a draw to the site for me though. Sterling's alright. He's abrasive, but lots of people are, and sometimes he makes a good point. I don't mind him having a show here. Needs to work on it though - seems a bit... bare bones. maybe he should invest in a better camera.

Haven't watched it, but... from what i've read of people's posts describing it a bit (not just the "OMG IT SUCKS" sorts of posts), I don't think it would be my sort of interest. Besides... games are more fun. :3

I dislike the show. its just pointless ranting, about things other features discussed or illustrated better, such as extra credits, extra punctuantion and weekly issue articles.

Much could be forgiven if Jim actually had something interesting to say. But he doesn't, alas.

I haven't enjoyed either episodes, but I didn't like top 5's first couple of eps either and then I came around and started enjoying it so I'll probably watch a few more... Maybe.

I watched it, prepared to hate it, mainly because it was in those Escapist ads that appeared when I was trying to watch other videos.

But I have to say, I found both of his episodes quite interesting. I think he should continue making videos, even if some people dislike them (you know, the same diversity statement made by other people), and not be discouraged.

Considering the Escapist community prides itself on it's supposed intelligence and maturity, it is rather bizarre to see how many people get worked up over shows/articles that not only are completely free, but are also completely optional to even watch in the first place.

Eh, it's pretty meh. Not anything I want to throw a tantrum over for being offensively bad, but it just comes across as a less interesting than Extra Credits, and less funny than more or less everything else, so I doubt I'll bother keeping up with it.

I don't enjoy it, and I find it hard to watch. If other people feel otherwise, good for them, I wouldn't go so far as to say it has no appeal at all.

But on a personal level, I think I can find everything offered much better elsewhere on this very site. I wouldn't say it should be cancelled, but I wouldn't notice if it was. It just doesn't cater to my preferences enough to attract me as a viewer nor keep my interest.

He hasn't brought up anything I haven't seen before and presents it in a way I don't like, therefore he has no appeal to me.

Why should we respect this man if he won't respect us?

Because the escapist started it, with these awful lets get rid of him threads.
From all his tweets they all seem fair, the escapist is an open community normal and one of the best, but for some reason becuase they dont like his show and think it should be banished into the dark.

I dont get why you have to say it should be here if you dont like it, I dont like or watch most the shows and I dont say get rid of them. All in all I enjoy it therfore it should not be stopped.

Should I start threads asking for shows to be removed it only seems fair?

At the moment I think a poll like this is fairly redudant because:

a) the first 5 episodes of any show are rarely representative of quality or content, if looking at other Escapist shows are anything to go by.
b) He seems to have a following from around the web (most notably Destuctoid), which means that potentially he could up Escapist's readership. That alone is reason to give him a chance; so take the poll after some of his fans have migrated here, factor in how many new users he's pulled in, and then try and calculate his success.
c) it's obvious from his strapline and persona that he's supposed to rile you, so people can check "no he's horrible" box all they want; if at episode 10 they're still faithfully watching and spewing bile in the comments, I'd say that they should consider his show a hit.

Eh. Vitriolic ranting is everywhere I look these days. I watched the first episode; read: made myself watch it to justify not watching it again, just to make sure there wasn't some hidden gem I was missing or something. I'm already kind of overloaded with negative ranting. This guy's show is definitely not my thing. From the comments I've read, it seems that most people don't like his show very much.

He is not really crying and the "ignorant" comment is right, the escapist is ignorant becuase they dont like a show so it has to be removed.
