What if they're the next Magneto? That would make you Wolverine, so you wouldn't need a lifeboat I guess. But still, they could grow up to be terribly evil or entirely unimpressive. The Onion did a bit on it. [http://www.theonion.com/video/firefighter-died-to-save-unimpressive-teen,18967/]
My point is they could be anything, unlimited potential and all that.
Plus, Ol' Maggy ain't ALL bad.

oh sure I have to give up my seat, but not anyone else on the raft.
And then come the part when everybody starts yealling and screaming at you to give your seat for her, but nobody else doesn't seem to want to do it either if you ask them to do it.

The child, yes, but not the women. They want equal opertunities and rights? They get them. I'd be willing to hold a rope so she can drag along behind the lifeboat or something though.

I'd give up a seat to anyone who looked to need it more than me, regardless of gender or age. Besides, it's not like I can't get a life jacket and/or swim.

Organise a rota. Those not in the life boat tread water for a minute, then hold onto the side for a minute, whilst another group does the opposite. Everyone wins, with just a few cases of hypothermia. The point of lifeboats isn't to go anywhere, but to stay in the area so that anyone investigating can find them

I'm altruistic. I'd give it up for anyone. Hell, I'd beg people to take it. I'm pretty much in love with the idea of dying so other people get to live.

I voted yes for children no for women. You wanted equal rights now you've got them! Haha, no but seriously I would definately for children but I don't really know if I would for other adults. If I was related to them in some way then yeh probably otherwise it would be a bit of a toss up.

Women, no. Children, yes.

Females are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves. Children, however, is our fragile hope of a future that's just a little bit less terrifying than the present.

With so little hope for humankind there's plenty reason to conserve every last bit of it.
