Everyday.

I'm not exaggerating either, unfortunately. I can't go out without getting yelled at for either my appearance or... well it's really just my appearance as these people don't know me but they assume that because of the way I look, I'm a raging queer.

I've been yelled at, had bottles thrown at me, been run over and even got beat up by a group of random thugs all because of the way I look and their hatred of homosexuality. Best part of it all though; they don't know me. They don't know I'm gay. They don't even know I'm bi. All they know is that I'm different looking and that equals to them a "******" who needs to die.

I really need to get out of this town >.>

Actually, yes. I've been called a ignorant bigot because I'm christian. It's hard to turn the other cheek when that shit happens

Religiously, because everyone picks on Christians these days.

And my lifestyle I suppose. Liking anime, video games, and playing World of Warcraft have definitely put a dent in my social life. I try not to bring up the last bit, although I don't play anymore.

But above all the way I look, lanky, pale, and I wear glasses.

Mine seem kinda insignificant to those above, but thats what I get crap for.

For my life style, taste in music playing lot's of game, avoiding people because they are idiots (in my school we have tons of them).

I have also expressed my opinion on feminism and that resulted in bad things, I didn't said anything bad.

"Games are art" I said every idiot in the class room started insulting me.

"I don't believe in god" instant hate from everione and I am no longer allowed to say "o my god" when when I die in a stupid way in CoD in my house.

"Smoking shouldn't be allowed" boom every smoker in my school wanted to kill me

"Abortion is a good thing" again with the hate.

Instead of radio buttons, this poll should have checkboxes so I can put like 5 answers down.

Well that's some bullshit. But try to look at it this way, your experiences while uncomfortable are very interesting, at least to someone like me anyway. What I mean is you can have a perspective on things other people (like me) just can't, even if we tried. Besides your english accent might be different than your spelling, but the way you spell and your use of grammar is of a greater proficiency than most idiots who can only understand one language, much less two, (ammunition for arguing with the less intelligent denizens and limeys) so chin up your twice as competent as most of them. The trick is finding the more intelligent individuals with open minds to be around, then the fun really starts.

Of course I am a American so maybe I don't quite appreciate the difficulty your going through. What I mean is I am the descendant of Norwegians, Germans, Brits, possibly some Cherokee mixed together with who knows what else, I have cousins that are of Scandinavian, Spanish, Native south American descent all mixed together... In my country it's normal to look around and see all different types of cultures and people of different ethnicity. The point I am trying to make is to not let the assholes and bigots get you down, your just ahead of the curve...

Also thanks, never would of figured out what the hell that acronym meant.
Wow, that's quite an ancestry... anyway, thanks for the comment, much appreciated. Still, I've toughened up over the years, and these days most of my friends don't really care and I ignore the judgmental crap I get from people in that neck of the woods as I am under absolutely no obligation to respond or care.

Thinking about it, though, it's even worse for a few of my friends who are not ethnically Chinese, but speak fluent Chinese, nonetheless. Unfortunately, Chinese people are just as racist as any other ethnicity (if not more so), so when they see other people not Chinese that they don't like the look of, they'll start insulting them in Chinese. Now, one of my friends was called (not sure how to anglicise, but I'll try) a 'fei gwei loh' (which literally means 'fat foreign devil'), only he understood it perfectly. How the hell was he supposed to react that?!

Anyway, /mini-rant
Well cool, glad you know that it isn't worth bothering yourself over. As for the second paragraph, sadly I have a creeping suspicion that idiots are everywhere. And thanks for the tip (I love stuff like this) now if I hear that I'll pretend to be the stupid white dude (that I am anyway) and say something rude while acting like I'm ignorant of what it means, (which is also not far off the mark) I'll pretend I think it's something someone says in greeting, I hear eggs are popular maybe I will try working in something like that. With a big stupid grin on my face... I don't know any better, I am a fat and stupid foreign devil after all, hehehe.

Racially, I'm a half white, half Jew living in the Bronx(NYC borough). It has happened a little didn't give a flying fuck when it did happened. I just wish they knew that Judaism is a ethnicity.

Politically, I have been called out on by my parents for my political believes, they think I'm communist in some ways. I say I'm socialist to a point with pure democratic view (not constitutional monarchs, I don't see the point of it, just a waste of tax payer money supporting one(No offense British cool guys)) when it comes to election of government.

Sexually, I'm bi with a verity of off beat fetishes, and again, I live in a ghetto. It's so awesome being me.

Religiously, I keep my Atheism to myself. I pretend to pray at the table of religious people's homes if they let me eat a meal with them. The only hardcore religious friend that knows I'm an Atheist is my age and I knew him since my early child hood, so he is cool with it. None religious friends not included.

Other, /v/ hates me for not having a good PC.

LOL, yeah, that'd get them off balance. And that is, unfortunately, true, you get all sorts everywhere. Still, we spoke about that incident and he thought he should have just snapped back, 'Yes, I am, so what's your point?!' Ah well...

And perhaps you could greet them by saying 'How do you do, ignoramus?' =P

I used to have knee condition that lead to me having to use a walking stick to get about, and for the fourish years I used the stick I tried not to let my mobility problem get in the way of my life.
This lead to a number of odd incidences whilst out at pubs, music venues, festivals and the like.

Being a fairly socialble chap, I'd start talking to people and making new friends and the like. Quite often, we'd be chatting away and generaly having a good time in a corner both or some other place where we'd be sat down. Then at some point, I'd need to get up and head to the bar or nip to the privy or some such. At this point I'd need to reach for my stick, which was usually hooked on the back of my chair or stached under the table out of the way.
Then the person I was talking to would change demeanor entirely, their expression would freeze, eye contact would be lost an they'd become nervous all of a sudden.

From this point on, these peope would avoid talking to me. Whenever I saw them again, be it at the same venue or elsewhere, they'd go out of thier way to avoid being in my company or if they couldn't avoid it, would politly make it clear they wanted to be elsewhere.

I know a 22yr old with a walking stick is an odd sight, and some might find odd sights uncomfortable, but that didn't make it any less hurtful for me.

P.S.Sorry for the long post length, and my awful attempt at spelling.

As a BBC, I've been discriminated by Chinese people for being too English (I have the, what Oriental people call, 'Western eyes') and by the English for not being English enough (even though I speak it better than a lot of 'English' idiots I see about me...).
What does BBC stand for? British Broadcasting Channel is all I can come up with..."sigh" I suck at figuring out acronyms.
'British Born Chinese' (or more specifically, 'British Born Cantonese'). Unless, as a BBC, you speak fluent Chinese and have the stereotypical Chinese appearance (which I don't, since I don't have slit eyes, am capable of growing decent facial hair despite being in my mid-twenties and am on the tall end of the Oriental height scale), the denizens of Chinatown will treat you like an aberration the moment you open your mouth.

Now, I speak English like Stephen Fry and Cantonese like Michelle Yeoh (fluently, but with a weird accent) so I get weird looks from literally everyone (Caucasians and Chinese alike) once I mix the languages I speak in (which I invariably have to when hanging out with friends in a Chinese restaurant). Just as well it doesn't happen much.
Sounds like you and I have the same problem buddy though I've never heard of this "Western eyes" thing. Ever heard of a banana? Haha, yeh that. By the standards of BBCs my Cantonese is pretty good (I was FORBIDDEN to speak English at home as a child). I suppose it's always difficult living in a country where you have a different skin colour from the native population wherever that may be.
I also get strange looks from holding hands with an Indian girl. Thankfully the family is OK with it!

Yes. And growing up as a fat kid, you learn to live with it.
I got pretty heavy for awhile after some health issues that kept me from being active. I've taken it all off again, but I can tell you for sure that I was treated very differently (particularly in restaurants and stores) when I was overweight.

I have social anxiety and, while not ashamed of this at all, people give me funny looks and make assumptions about me and my mental state. While fairly under control and having not been on medication in years, people still think I'm going to snap or something. And recently it lost me a job. I went for an interview with a manager who really didn't seem to know what she was doing. She would constantly stop me in my interview and tell me I was answering incorrectly and half the time wouldn't let me answer. When I told her that I had social anxiety she started to give me funny looks and immediately started to think that I wouldn't be able to handle customers and the job itself, even though I worked for 2 years in customer service with no problems. The scrutiny and the rejection made me have a panic attack and it lost me the job.

Yeah I was not happy.

I've never been seriously discriminated against in any way and I'm very thankful for that, knowing the things that happen to some people in this world because they have certain beliefs, opinions or personal traits. I have been discriminated against in largely very minor ways though for being a male with long hair and being a student of computer games programming (there are certain people who don't consider that a real subject).

The 'western eyes' thingy is when they're slightly deeper set and the ridges of the eyelids are more well defined... or something like that.

And I heard the term 'twinky' though I think that's more of an American term, same meaning though. But damn, your folks were harsh, I got elocution lessons in English as a kid, and invariably spoke a weird medley of Chinglish (and still do).

Anyway, that's a not oft seen pairing (Chinese + Indian), and just as well your family sounds like mine in that regard. Me and my sisters have only ever had white other halves and our parents are a-OK with it. If we were in our parents' generation, man, we would've had to leave home and change our identities. I think some British Chinese people are still like that. *brrr*

Still, how's your written Chinese? 'Cos mine sucks! =P

Nope. Anything impersonal, I easily saw the reason I was denied. Anything face-to-face, I think my intimidating manner and possession of currency kept things fairly civil.

I've not knowingly been discriminated against.

The closest would be in the form of job application. I've applied for dozens of secretary jobs and cashier positions. I'm an overweight male and so I've never even been given an interview for one of those postings. I'd consider this sexual discrimination that's considered to be accepted by society. I'll keep trying though, a position as a secretary appeals to me.

First time i remember was in a locker room, i have an indented chest(from birth) and alot of ppl find that to be strange. More of wtf.

Second time was when Ppl found out i listen to rock/death metal. Apperntly its the right stuff to listen to is rap, hip-hop, and pop. >_>

Third, i just remembered this, the princable of my old elementary school hated me, just cause i qustioned his own authority. (apparently thats breaking the rules) So one day sitting in a detention room, unsupervised, i went to the bathroom cause of a sick stomach, and twenty minutes later the police are tackling me and arresting me. (No real crime was commited so i was released, also as the fact that i was 7).

At Fourteen, differnt school, differnt city, the Vice princable hated my qustioning his authority, (does EVERY frickin school have this, and one day after being pissed at his i am right/better than you cause of marine training, i asked if i could have a minute cause he pissed me off, proceds to tackle me and use subduing moves on a kid. Cause being pissed is a risk to the other kids. Dosnt matter if everyone is watching it happen.

Best one was when some guys made a list of ways the bible is flawed. I helped move it along the school. (i was 16, a sophmore) After the last class of the day, a christain said my ass was gonna be on a plak, by gods will i was going to hell, then tried to kick my ass. I <3 the gillatine chock hold. srry for the long list/read.
