Poll: How Happy Are You Being Single?

Not well. Not. Well. At all. I'm really messed up over this girl I'm in love with who I really want to fuck the hell out of have a deep relationship with. She has a boyfriend, though, and we have barely talked before.

Make your move. If she rejects you, find another one. Best case scenario, she sees you in a new light and you get her. Worst case scenario, you just have another girl.

This is, despite the crazy wolf, very good advice. The girl I'm interested in is in a relationship but I told her how I felt anyway. Turns out she felt the same way and now she's trying to figure out who she wants to be with. Not a complete success yet but it's better than nothing.

interesting, perhaps I just havnt met the kind of guy to "bring out the romantic within"..but then again I think still dont like it (again holding hands/public displays of affection, it feels so exhibitionist..and I just dont like holding hands...my last relationship was almost a hilarious role-reversal when it came to the romantic stuff)

anyway yes, I have played fallout 3...and yes again I did play it on the PC...good game

Yeah, I suspect I've met the girl that might get me to retry relationships (my previous two have been huge fails, since I gave them less attention than my friends). I still refuse to degrade myself by looking like a mushy pansy, though. Even if I get back in the game, I'm gonna reserve some dignity.

this might sound strange but no, I dont have much interest in mods, (not only because I havnt quite worked them out) but because I figure Vanilla game should be enough for me, and thease days its not often I have nothing to play so I move on to the next

Dating is harder for guys in that you're expected to ask girls out (not that I ever have). Of course, if your a girl and no guys are asking you out, it can be brutal.

Mods can make a whole new game out of the old one, for free. It's like when you were a kid and changed the rules of a board game to make something new, and (sometimes) great. Except even better. I made a mod for Fallout 3, and it made the game 100x better for me, impressive, since I loved the crap out of the vanilla game.

Up front, yes, it's more crushing, but the good side is you know yes or no. I theorize, anyhow. I've never asked a girl out, only been the other way around. Girls do ask guys out, it's just thought of as "desperate" by some people, and most girls seem to lack the courage.

Well, I flirt with lots of girls, it's fun, and why not? The important difference is the one between flirting seriously, or really laying the mack down. You can tell if I'm flirting, as I usually compliment a girl on her looks, original, I know. If I'm macking seriously, I usually tend to compliment personality as well, show interest in getting to know her better. My only experience with this one is the one girl I'm considering asking out, I'm hardly a pimp, ahaha, she's like a guy, mentally, which is epic beyond belief.

Emotional development plays a big role in how you feel about your relationship status (or lack thereof). Some people are just wired to feel like they're only ever happy in the arms of another, while others are comfortable enough with who they are that they don't need a partner to define them. It's not that the latter would scoff at the opportunity, but I am saying they don't hold their breath waiting for someone to come along so they can reassess their self worth.

I fall in the latter, I'm not overjoyed at being alone but it's not the main reason for living in my world. I find plenty of reasons to get out of bed and get on with the day. If anything, people that are overly dependent on relationships need to be alone for awhile. Staying single long enough aids you in being comfortable in your own skin, to stop putting so much emphasis on other people and their opinions and live your life according to your rules.

It depends on the situation. I'm not happy that I have no one to say "I love you" to... but on the other hand, I am happy that I can sink more time into studying, which I desperately need. Being single has its upsides and downsides. I will say that being single is not a one way ticket to a life of despair - I've been single all my life (mostly due to my crappy, stoic personality and incredibly average looks), and I am reasonably happy at the moment.

What an appropriate time for me to find this topic.. My long-distance girlfriend of a year and a half just broke up with me in the last week.

Granted, it was more because our age and experience differences (she's only a year and a half older, but I'm only a junior in high school, and she's a freshman in college, so that year and a half is kind of a huge deal), and we've acknowledged that breaking up is the best option for both of us right now, so the whole thing went down pretty smoothly.

That said, it's a bit surreal being single again. And it will definitely be odd to find a girlfriend that lives nearby, since a 300 (and later 2000) mile difference is the norm for me now.

First off, I am 15ish. To clear up any questions about that. I have a crush on someone, and she liked me back. But, she has a boyfriend. :| Anywho. After a while of knowing her, she told me that she was suprised that I didn't have a girlfriend. I'm not sure if I should take that as a compliment, or insult. Probably complimenting me. It made me somewhat happy, because after that, I noticed how females acted towards me in the past, and it gave me a feeling that I could be with anyone I wanted. But not her. ._.
