you say live so im assuming you can actually die in this. so no. if its just virtuality with no literal dieing im all for it.

"Live" just means physically acted out, it doesn't mean with real weapons. If people DID use real weapons during LARP then, yes, people would die, and it would quickly be banned.

I'd only do it if it was being filmed for some kind of awesome tv show about a bunch of guys who go around modern society dressed in armour carrying medieval weapons.

I remember a bloke from Birmingham university came in and talked to us about Uni.

He showed a video about uni life.

It was 2/3 sports, 1/3 in a library, 3/3 porn music.

But there was a few brief clips of hippy-ish events and festivals, then a split second of two people dressed up in Norman armour going at each other with swords and shields.

I thought "Hell Yeah! Gonna get me some Saxons!"

OT: No, nothing like this. I'd LOVE to be in a reenactment though, from something 1600-1900. The biggest ones are the Gettysburg reenactments, but I'm not American and I don't feel that strongly about it, though it's damn intresting and I'd likley do it.

I'd love for a full-scale Waterloo reenactment, but it's usually just a small company-on-company event

Dunno where you larp, but where I go, we use real bows... With rubber-headed arrows.. But real bows. And a few crossbows.. And some places we use cannons^^

We actually watched a documentary about this in uni earlier this week. It was about a LARP game called Darkon. Interesting how a lot of people were laughing at it, yet we're already pretty far down the nerd ladder, being aspiring game designers and developers.

I'd possibly try it out, if nobody found out. Probably not though. It's one of these things I think looks sort of fun, but I wouldn't tell anyone that.

Especially since I'm 6'6" and pretty heavy they'd probably always make me be an ogre or something like that.

I'd give it a try; after all, I lost what little semblance of self-respect I had a long time ago, so looking like an idiot isn't really a concern for me. I'm not sure whether I'd like it or not though.
