I still don't see why any of this historical sexual activity is the "fault" of someone who will not be born for 200 years or the entire sociogeographical group that this one man beloged to.

I got asked what i was because I had a slightly darker shade so i didnt look native british. after I told people what I was, i got those reactions. Of the few people that i met who werent british decent (i.e. oriental mostly, but that might have just been the places i visited), I told them after they told me what they were and tehy didnt react with the same hostilities. I dont think I'm cool for being Native American. I just htink I'm me and that that part of my ancestry make me a little more different but not higher above anyone. The people i made friends with didnt care i was Cherokee, and i was glad tehy didnt. I get enough of it in America when my neighbors ask me to do a rain dance when we have a drought.
I'm calling bullshit. British people are not like americans. We don't start conversations then ask them their ancestry. We don't care. It never comes up in a converstation. Whether you're talking to a black man, asian or white guy.

I'm Canadian. So yeah, your guy's countries are pretty cool. Sorry about America, though, Rest Of World. We try to keep it in check. But it's just so bloody /stupid/ sometimes.

Thanks for the land, Britain. We're using pretty well. Boring politics, though. GOD our politics are boring. I watched curling instead of the election.

So yeah, since I'm Canadian, I'm all proud for you guys. Even the Americans. Have a good time. :)

(Note: We secretly hate everyone behind their back).

I'm not British, but I have had British friends over Xbox live and other online places. There are a lot of policies that I wish America would take a serious look at. This is coming from an American college student $9,000 dollars in debt. I heard that you can get paid for going to college and that would be a huge relief because balancing a job and school work is hellish if you plan to have a social life on top of that. Also, who needs guns besides for hunting and law enforcement. No gun policies seem fantastic, no worries on getting shot on the street you grew up in. That being said, I don't think that the UK is a magical land were no violence is held, but its a lot manlier to fist fight someone if you have that bad of a problem with them rather than getting shot because you wear the wrong colors in the wrong neighborhood.(I'm sure I'm not the only American on this forum that has been hassled for wearing blue in a bad neighborhood lol) I plan to holiday in the UK one summer and gauge my own experience there and maybe plant my roots there. So Brits keep on keepin' on and show your pride lol

No, because we didn't do anything. How can I be proud of something I didn't take part in, just because I was born in the same country as someone who did? This has always confused me.

thats pretty much it in a nutshell. And it was out of a takeway, but I had to do research where i was going and i saw that a large part of British diet was fish and bread (especially during the time of my study whihc was colonial up to 1877) so thats what a larger portion of my meals had ot be.
You based your idea of the British diet on what we would have been eating around 1877? Before planes and fridges and supermarkets and basically everything else?

Awesome.

Not sure I snipped that right.
Mate, English people do not just go up to random people, and ask them their country/race of origin. It just doesn't happen. So I find it very, very hard to believe that people constantly asked you this, throughout England.

I siad i didnt hate them for it. It just bothers me when I say I'm native American and people immediately think that one of my ancestors was raped by a savage indian. So i like to correct them. and thats really essentially what he said.

*facepalm*

I was never asked directely. here's more or less how people found out:
British Person: Hey, nice tan (this was around september). That natural?
me: yeah.
B: So you from around here (also dont have the British speech, since it wouldnt be an accent to you)?
M: no.
B: where you from?
M: I'm American. Native American.
B: oh. So... How's it feel to know my great grandfather made your people civiliz.. blah blah blah.

So yes, British people did ask me, cause i tan better then most people (Combination of Spanish and Cherokee blood. I can get dark).

Very much so, we're fucking AWESOME.
I hear a lot of talk about chavs on the escapist, are you one them?
Put it this way.
I have a monocle, walk with the aid of a cane, and possess an upper-class British accent (worthy of my status as an upper class British subject). I also set fire to chavs.
So you're like... A very classy Pimp? Who dislikes chavs?
Some have said that in the past... however, some say that I am a god among men, and that there are a hundred ways to kill me but ninety-nine of those ways are actually clever ruses that I have put into circulation myself to trick people. But for all you know... they may be right. I actually have a cult following, comprising of stalkers and adoring fans, and my hair has a fanclub all by itself.

Well, gotta say true to the format. It was in my specifications for my transfer. So I had to eat it. After the first few weeks of the runs i would have gladly changed diets.

OK, so you withdraw the "fault of you and your people" comment then?

Also, these people, where did you tend to meet them? In pubs? Takeaways?

PS no one mentioned rape, you just assumed, addmittedly I assumed you meant the english person raped the native american when you used the wording you did.

GTFudgeO the thread, please. This arguement is going nowhere and it's not really ON THE BLOODY TOPIC I STARTED. This thread is about being proud of your British heritage. As you have stated, you are 1% British but do not consider yourself British in the slightest. Thank you for your point mate.

Alright y'all, I'm off to beddy byes now, way past my bed time (College at 8:30 tomorrow, woop). Night night, thanks for being so enthusiastic :D Don't think I've seen many 5 page long threads.

Well, I was going to screw up your poll and say "no", which, as an American, is the only logical answer I could give. Fortunately, I'm not that mean.

So, yeah, go UK, and such. Don't much care for many of your country's policies (Can't have a gun? Can't protect my own property? SCREW THAT!), but overall I think you're a fun bunch.

However, could you please tell your college students to cool it? They're freaking the rest of us out.

Hehe, thanks mate.
And I am a college student! Just one that believes that the EMA cuts have to happen, and that tuition fees need to be put up. I'm not happy about it, but my philosophy is that I'd rather spend a year or two more paying my loan back, then servicemen in Afghanistan die because the Armed Forces had cutbacks, or someone dies due to NHS cutbacks.

have a look for videos of the poll tax riots and miners strikes, If the gov keeps this up the students could only be a prequel to the fun

I'm American and proud of that. XD

Though if I was British I would probably be proud, the UK is a pretty cool place, and your SAS are some BAMFs.
