I was content with the "content"-content of the content you posted.

I think sex in a game ought to be done right or not at all. Don't waste my time flirting if there's no way to follow through on it, don't be cheesy porn, don't be some 12-yr-old rap-lover's fantasy and so on, but by all means include it as an option, especially if it's relevant to plot.

Oh, and don't make it "optional side-mini-game: have sex with your assigned partner" either. Let us choose. Let us choose freely. Not that I would actually choose the PVC "nurse" costume or the goofy dog suit with the velcro flaps, but hey ...

I don't mind sexual content. It's eye candy like any other. I'm gonna be such a dirty old man later in life. ;)

This exactly.
If there are boobs there just for the sake of boobs, then it's stupid and not needed.
Mass Effect, (Hopefully) Dragon Age, and Baldur's Gate 2 all had references or small scenes depicting a romantic sexual encounter, but that was after you've gotten to know the characters, and there was an emotional attachment (With you character, at the least).

I could say how Grand Theft Auto and God of War have totally not needed sex and sexuality, but those games aren't made for the kids who play it anyways.

The point is that I'm not 12 anymore. Sex is fine, but it's way over rated, overblown in media, and I don't need any more media outlets (Like games) shoving sex in my face along with a 'Look! This is cool because of sexuality!'.

Don't suppose you have an extra copy of that ASS BLASTER 25!!!?

Really, sexual content in games doesn't bother me. Whether they are specifically designed for the content (such as hentai games), or the content follows the natural flow of the story.

Think I used the word content enough?
I agree with that. Sex is okay in one of two ways:
1)hentai/porn game
2)if it fits with the story
There shouldn't be just "WAHHHHH TIT VAGINA!!!!!!!!!!" just because Team Ninja had some extra time on their hands, but if you have a beach scene you may NEED a big busted woman who has super jiggle effects :D you know, for "authenticity"

It's funny how there is violence and sex in almost any movie you go see nowadays, but as soon as it's mentioned in a video game, BOOM the media freaks the hell out and goes on a gaming bashing rampage.

It doesn't bother me when there is sex, but I don't think it's needed.

In Overlord II (rated T mind you) you can unlock a special scene if you buy enough gifts for your mistress, where you both go into a bedroom and the tower starts shaking. Hell, one of them actually says "Oooh, it just gets everywhere, doesn't it?" during the scene!

How the media has not picked up on this yet, considering it is rated T, is astounding.

Sex is natural, and i find it adds some humor to video games, like when i found that hot tub as kratos in god of war 2 and got money for doing it

I dont much care for sex in my videogames but i dont mind it either but I find it funny how no-one minds people running around blowing the heads of each other but sex ofcourse is too much :|

Although I do believe some games companys do just bring it up to create controversy.

they don't do it because they seem to think that games are still only played by little kids. hell, when i go to kroger to buy magazines, they have the game magazines in kids section, and a good bit of the game magazines have a fair amount of cussing now.

(search bar, sorry)

anyways, i said it before and ill say it now
games dont need sexual content - at all
it can be implied but it should go no further

i dont want to be embarrassed to play a game in front of my friends/parents/siblings because there's a pair of digital knockers bouncing up and down or because one of the virtual characters is faking an orgasm
(nor do i want to be turned on by a game)

games are for fun, not for convincing yourself that you're super macho and get all the girls (or if you want that, get a hentai game or something)

devs could be spending their time and money on things so much more worthwhile too

and if you say "how's it different from killing someone?" ill respond like so
there is no personal pleasure from seeing digital characters engage in secual content, at most you'll get turned on (and that's why they invented porn)
when you kill someone on screen, you let out a lot of anger, it tests your skills and it's rewarding to see your accomplishment in action

Sex is the same difference as violence, really, it just has more of a social taboo for various reasons... I think in games it's generally just used for titillation, but I suppose there is some potential for mature applications.

If the scene is approriate(spelt right ??) for the the game and it's Age rating then it should'nt be that much of a big deal.

It's only the sort of thing kids around the age of 12 and up would see anyway.it's not going to harm them because they will most likely have already seen things much worse. In my personal experience and of those around me thtats the case.

Also if a game is rated 18 then usually a parent will buy it for them. I played GTA Vice City the day it came out and i must've been like 6-7 years old and thats rated 18.

If the scene makes sense to the story and the game then i see nothing wrong with it.

As said so many times, if it's a part of the story, and is done tastefully and mature, even a fully covered sexual act wouldn't bother me.

However, then you have games like Red Alert 3, where Tanya is reduced to a blond bimbo from the kick-ass brunette she was in the previous games, and Natasha is dressed like a bad whore. That's done baaad. Way too much emphasis on 'sex sells' <.<

Damnit EA, if I wanted bare thighs and bellies, I'd watch porn instead.. I wish they kept meaningless sex appeals out of it, and kept it all about the whacky, out-of-proportion war between the Soviet Union and the West (Also kicking the Japanese out of the story, I for one never cared for them)

The same as in movies, if it's done tastefully and is appropriate to the story then fine, but if it's just thrown in there for shock value and has no real relevance then I have a problem with that.

A good example is the whole hot coffee thing a few years back in GTA... in a game like that, is something only accessible by codes/mods anyway really offensive compared to the rest of the content?
It is a weird double standard (that Hot Coffee was a big deal but the pimping, stealing, murdering missions weren't). George Carlin didn't say it first but I always attribute it to him:
"I'd rather my kid see two people making love than two people trying to kill each other."
