My selection has nothing to do with my political leaning towards pro or anti censorship.
I am pro-ass.

Maybe I'm missing something because I haven't paid much attention mostly because the whole outrage is about removing a pose and it's call buttgate, which is kind off massively stupid, but from what I've seen Blizzard's response was simply the employee that is in charge of that saying, "Yes person that is complaining about the pose, I understand what you are saying and I agree, in fact we were planning on removing it regardless since the animation we actually wanted is almost finished", then some people got a bit more passionate and they apologized for having offended people because they are a corporation and that's what corporations do when they don't want to seem like dicks and then suddenly everybody was really pissed over it.SlumlordThanatos said:Then all they had to do was say so.Kaleion said:I don't much care about it, but let's be fair about this the real reason they removed it is because it's a place-holder pose that several characters have and they were already planning to replace it at some point down the line, people forget that it's a beta and it makes sense that stuff like that would be subject to change until much later than in-game animations or balance.
I mean it's not like Blizz is against sexualizing the character otherwise she wouldn't have that skin-tight suit and Widowmaker still exists, so it's a non-issue, it's a typical change for a beta and nothing more.
You know, instead of making a big deal about her fantastic fanny.
I don't care about the pose itself, but I can't help but feel like this was all a stunt, kind of like with Hatred or Dead or Alive. Start a controversy, and then watch people snap up your game or swimsuit DLC. It's a good excuse to drum up extra good will from the recent outrage culture. Everything just feels... off to me.Corey Schaff said:I neither support nor don't support it. I don't support the way they handled it, however. All in all, it probably would have been better if they hadn't removed it. Or at most unwedgied her suit.
Those two lines seem rather contradictory.PurplePonyArcade said:Anti-removal here. I am sick of over sensitivity and making a big deal out of nothing.
Blizzard directly lied in their statement on the subject. They said they agree with pose criticism, then they make a pose which is A PIN-UP POSE, i.e., borderlines erotical, and SUDDENLY no backlash from original critics? Weee-hooo, that was a clunky PR over there.Nazulu said:I just heard about this recently, and from what I can gather, Blizzard didn't care for it either, so there is nothing that really matters here
It's fourth one.RedDeadFred said:I don't care about the pose. Where's the option for "this whole thing is causing me to lose my faith in humanity"?
Pffff, how naive one has to be to even... I don't know, this offshore scandal is just funny. "Oooh my gaaawd, politicians are corrupted in our world ruled by business interests and financial lobbies, what a surpriiiise!"RedDeadFred said:There's the biggest global corruption scandal ever going on right now and gamers are losing their minds over butts. Fucking butts. I know I know, gaming site and such. I just feel that the amount people are getting worked up over such a meaningless thing is a tad depressing. The fact that this topic has been dominating the popular forum posts section for this long is ridiculous.
Yeah, but they wrote a reply later though with how they feel. I'm not going to make assumptions on what their real intentions are.Rastrelly said:Blizzard directly lied in their statement on the subject. Eh, the fourth one doesn't quite fit though. It's too much outrage and too little disappointment.Rastrelly said:Pffff, how naive one has to be to even... I already do so, sir, but thanks anywayRedDeadFred said:I leave you to continue your debates on fictional butts. Enjoy, sir.Rastrelly said:Pffff, how naive one has to be to even... Nah, they'll just sacrifice several most egregious examples and everything will end there. In worst case scenario they'll find a way to detract attention to something else. Usually politicians of both opposition and governing forces sit in the same corrupted boat and cover each other's arses on these matters.RedDeadFred said:However, the information leak and potential fallout from it is unprecedented.
You could very well be right. I just think it's a step in the right direction. Now it's at least out there instead of just being a suspicion. Granted, it's quite possible that the investigation was funded by the very competitors of the tax haven. It's a long way to go, but I think this has caused a lot more awareness than a lot of other things (just look at how Iceland reacted). Anyway, it's quite possible that I'm being over optimistic and I absolutely concede that everything you said is not only possible, but likely.Rastrelly said:Nah, they'll just sacrifice several most egregious examples and everything will end there.
