I don't see what the problem is with the majority of porn. I owe some of the best ideas I've ever had to porn.

I think as long as its viewed in moderation, it can actually be quite good fun, especially in a relationship.

In addition to porn that actually does what it's supposed to, some porn is absolutely hilarious.
I thoroughly recommend Pirates 2: Stagnetti's Revenge, Operation: Desert Stormy and Batman: A Porn Parody, all of which can be thoroughly enjoyed even while fast-forwarding through the sex scenes.

i dont even know how to cook a pot roast lol. to be honest i dont know what a pot roast is... must be an american thing. I can cook a good australian roast though. and a mean curry.

ok im done degrading and stereotyping myself now.

Back to the topic... i would just like to point out that if ur single then u dont have anyone elses feelings to consider. But when ur in a relationship u do. Would it be really that bad if ur partner (guy or girl) asked u to stop watching porn they feel a little degraded or whatever by it, would it be such a big thing to give it up? yes, u may argue that that would be ur partner trying to "change you" but lack of porn is not changing who you are. i would feel that a person quitting smoking would be a bigger deal, yet people do that all the time for their partners.

And yes, I took it as a joke. I can take a joke.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pot_roast_(beef) this is a pot roast. and I am Canadian. I am also interested in this mean curry.
I do see what you mean. My only problem is when my significant other, would start putting the before the relationship and not wanting to do the lovings because pornography is more interesting. I am fully aware that guys at least once in their lives have looked at porn or owned it but when it starts to become the only way they can get an erection. that is when it is a problem.

It's a fantasy portrayal, and as long as you realize it's separate from reality (pretty much how any given fantasy/reality disassociation should be) then it's fine by me. I have a fairly extensive collection of it myself.

lol I'm just kidding [and snip again!!]
yeah women on the escapist! that would never happen! because women don't play games and they just like making pot roasts if women were ever on this site, the world would EXPLODE!!!
well hardy hardy har.

Can nobody take a joke anymore? everyone has to be politically correct? It was a light-hearted joke at the stereotypes of women being a minority-cum-myth part of internet and gaming culture and you have to just take it out of context.
you, kind madam, can fuck off.
Oh.
I took it as a joke. To be honest i found it very funny. Sorry if it did not come of that way. i have a pretty dry sense of humour. But you can't go wrong with a good pot roast!
Oooookkkkaaaayyyy. . . I prefer lamb chops myself.

Sry if I overreacted, but it seemed like a ton of super-sarcasm in ur first reply.
interesting. i have never had lamb. yes it was VERY sarcastic.

Lamb is good. If you have the choice, go for lamb chops. lol wtf are we talking about lamb for?

I took it as the wrong type of sarcasm, the darker, eviler, more hate-filled type.

this is turning into a pretty good 3-way conversation. XD

Seems Aussies can pick up on other Aussie jokes like customs sniffer dogs. (just watched border security last night) ;P

You are right, that being single is a very different area of life to a relationship and I reckon I agree with you that if your partner asks you to stop something they feel uncomfortable with then it's a perfectly reasonable request. Its not like porn is a full scale addiction and to be honest, you can't really categorize porn 'addiction' as being in the same league and alcoholism or nicotine addiction, IMO of course.

However, if you don't watch porn and your partner asked if you'd be up for watching it together, would you accept? i find that a more interesting question for the ladies.

I actually would consider asking a partner to give up porn to be slightly a big deal, atleast in this situation. You recognize the fact that you don't really enjoy sex so right there you and your partners sex drives are way out of sync. On top of that asking your partner to give up there other release just seems unfair.
hmm, that is true, ill give you that. but on the same note, i dont think people will go anywhere else to find the same emotional replacments? coz if that happened, in most cases that would be cheating. if im wrong please feel free to correct me. im not against people disagreeing with me at all

That is good questions. depends on what kind it is. if its all about guys blowing on girls faces and stuff, gross, no. I dont know why guys like that.... *shudder* but if its more tasteful stuff, sure why not? if ur watching it together, then the whole 'leaving the other person out and making them feel awkward' thing doesnt apply.

I believe that it is degrading for both parties involved and "glorifies" sex.

That said, I still watch it :/.

Yay for the anonymity of the internet!
Degrading I would say is situational. All depends on how it's done, much like any other form of entertainment, art, what ever.

As for glorification... sex is the sourece of all human life, if anything deserves to be glorified, this is it. =)

Sorry can you rephrase that? I don't understand what you mean. Also you should know i'm not trying to fight you or anything I do agree with you on the fact that people shouldnt try to take what they see in porn and apply it to the bedroom unless both people agree and like that sort of thing.

I am completely apathetic towards it. I do not require it, and it can go on doing whatever it wants.

Sounds a lot like many things in life...;p

Yes, I have nothing against porn, and I watch porn, too.

I still realize the HUGE difference between sex in real life and sex in movies.

In reality, it's about what FEELS good, not what LOOKS good.

Of course, sometimes the two are almost the same, and to be honest, sometimes do you get inspired to mix things up or do something special..

What i meant is this: if a guy/girl doesnt get enough sex, he/she goes to porn. that seems to be ok. but if a girl/guy doesnt get enough emotional support, where are they supposed to go? i guess the easy answer would be to dump them lol. but then again, if u dumped someone for not giving u enough sex, they would seem a bit like an arse hole. but what i was generally going for is that some people feel they are able to talk to other people more than their partner about emotional stuff, but then their partner gets crabby with them coz they did that. but people cant get upset if their partner watches porn.

Yeah, i know, im not making much sense haha.

Well ya I think that's because porn isn't another person. If there was some program you could watch to get emotional support then I don't think anyone would have a problem with that. (There was an episode of 30 Rock where they had this and they marketed it as porn for women, funny stuff)

Well like I said I don't think its fair to get upset with a partner who watches porn just because you don't like it. That would be like me trying to get my girlfriend to quit watching musicals.

Lol yeah but i bet she doesnt expect u to randomly burst into song (haha i just saw that in my head... funny stuff). And ive seen that 30 rock episode. It was pretty funny too.

I completely get what your saying. I really do. but where is the line drawn? if ur partner smokes, but not around u or in the house or anything, how can u ask them to give it up? isnt it the same as ur partner watching porn whenever ur not around?

I don't really see any problem with porn, its just some more extreme types shouldn't be widely availble to the public.
