The point of the organisation Anonymous is that it isn't an organisation. Just because one or two members claim attacks will cease, does not mean that they will. They speak only for themselves and for no other members of Anonymous. Anonymous will do as it wishes. It has no hierarchy, no governmental structure, no form of organisation. Everyone is an equal and independent member. If one person says they will stop attacking enemies of Anonymous, that does not stop any other members from Anonymous from simply carrying on the attacks themselves. Never take press releases from Anonymous as proof of contract or even solid evidence. It will do as it wishes. The only single binding rule that all members of Anonymous follow is that it will never cause physical harm to its enemies.

This whole thing still confuses me, Geohot breaks terms of use, raises funds to defend himself in court, settles outside and buggers off.
Now some bloke who really likes v for vendetta takes it as the rallying cry to be a bell end?
Am I missing something or is this the in vouge thing to be doing?
Anonymous does not consist of one man, woman or organisation. It is everyone. It is your postman, it is your baker, it is your boss, your friend, your brother, your sister. The point is that Anonymous embodies anyone and everyone who feels they can identify with its collective aims. This means that people will act however they wish under the banner of Anonymous not as a member of a group, but as a brand of ideals. They don't do it to say 'i'm a contributing member of a cyberterrorist network!', they do it to say 'you are opposing the collective wish of Anonymous, which is representative of freedom of information, freedom from persecution, freedom from oppression etc'. Anonymous stands for a very loose set of standards, morals and ideals. That's all.
