If Anon's attack barely did anything when they were publicly going after Sony I doubt that their private attacks would do more.

Maybe it has something to do with getting Steam integrated? Hell Steam isn't exactly the most reliable thing around. I've lost count of how updates to games can break the service. And how many times it just craps out on me. Not to mention how notoriously bad Valve is at integrating stuff into consoles.

If the Anons have attacked PSN...then they are now showing us that THEY are the bad guys who we should fear/hate, not any of the big bad companies they claim do us ill.

If it does turn out to be Anonymous that is at fault, then we should start grabbing our torches and keyboards for a good ol'fashioned Anon witch hunt!

i'm laughing right now at those who bought a PSN Plus membership...
Why what's the difference between a regular and a Plus member in this or hell a five year old who just got a PS3 yesterday for their birthday who's parent(s)are trying to set up account(s)?(Just using the last one as an example I'm not currently aware of anyone in that situation.)

If Anonymous is vindictive then they may consider relaunching the attack till Sony admited outside interference,Or it's some separate splinter cell, different branch with different views than the ones who said they'd stop or just individuals [In this event not claiming to be apart of Anonymous] who want to interfere with PSN for other reasons or to discredit Anonymous. (Maybe even Valve/Steam since no one's really blaming Socom 4 for this?)
for what i've seen, PSN plus members get Early game Beta access, cheaper prices while buying online, and shit like that...

But i was thinking of the irony of the supposed hierarchical classes of players (copied to the xboxlive system), that when they're in trouble, we're all sinking by the same service in the end.
Compare it to the people that bought 1st class tickets when boarding the Titanic...

I really don't buy that Anon did this. It just doesn't seem in their sort of "spirit" to harm thousands of innocent gamers who they're supposed to be fighting for.

Honestly Anon, drop the fight anyway. Nobody really cares about the thing that started this fight in the first place.

Well, this just goes to show you that free things never work as well as things you pay for.
Anyone else see the irony?

Is it not possibly this Merger between steam and PSN's networks?

I could imagine that would cause some issues.

(I know it's not an actual merger. I just don't know what to call it.)
I'm more inclined to believe this the cause of the failures. It makes sense to me.

I sense a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly unable to log on to the PSN

While, Anonymous certainly stepped in it. Not only do they bungle their attacks by hurting users instead of Sony, but they hand Sony an automatic scapegoat for future outages.

Random thought but do you think Sony would do this to themselves in order to blame Anonymous?

Sony, have clearly demonstrated, that they hurt their own users.
