I would like one, would make it more immersive. Just like what those motion controllers are shooting for, just not as stupid

Yeah... I'd certainly try it out... Once the extremes arn't too hot and cold...
But I sure hope it only works for games that are specifically made for it... Although then it might turn out like the eye-toy... having only like 4 games for it.
I would sure hate to play that last bit in MGS4 with that thing though... OUCH..

So we would just feel what the temperature of the environment is? My hands get warm enough when I do intense gaming sessions I don't need a controller adding more heat. I am still quite satisfied with the controller rumbling.

Didn't people think rumble was a pointless addition at first too? I'd give this a chance.

I voted yes, but the only way to use it would be very, very subtly. Say you're in a survival horror game, and you're walking down a deserted hallway, and the controller at the same time cools down a few degrees, giving you a chill. Turn around and hey, there's a monster behind you. Or maybe you're in a tough fight with the final boss and the controller steadily goes up a few degrees, giving you the illusion that it's even more intense.

Of course, there could also be ways to set the temperature manually. If you're one of those people whose hands get really sweaty when you play, maybe it can help cool you down?

But if it's just a gimmick that it gets hotter in hot areas and colder in cold areas, that would probably not be worth it. And as much as I hate to be cynical about it, that's probably what will happen.

I'd at least try it. The designer wouldn't make it painful, but it would be noticeable enough. Perhaps in a game where you're freezing and need to get warmer, instead of a meter on the screen the controller slowly gets colder. If it's really subtle changes in temperature, such as it getting slightly warm in sunlight and cool at night, I think it would be a good feature. Rumble works great and has varying amounts of shaking, so this could work.

It doesn't sound that comfortable to be honest. I don't think I'd use such a controller.

Assuming we aren't talking about huge temperature changes with this I would probably give it a go. The rumble feature actually does increase immersion for me when I'm playing games, this seems like more of the same.

Now if you're asking me if I would shell out $100ish[/wild and unfounded speculation] for something thats going to make my palms cold or hot I would probably say you're out of your mind, but if it was a feature that came standard with the controller either with the console or at the same price as a regular controller then yes I would probably use it.

Highly depends on a game. For some games it's a nice addition and for other this is unacceptable.

Would give it a try but can't really see it being anything more than a bad gimmick going the same way as the power glove.

No, I wouldn't use it.

Think of the agony when you play Lost Planet.
Or Dante's Inferno. (In Hell)
Or Red Faction. (On Mars)
Or any of the Pokemon games that has a bigass mountain that you have to climb. (Cold, AND you have to fight a shitload of Team Rocket/Magma/Aqua/Galactic/Whatever Grunts.)

Two words: Sweaty palms.
I hate greasy or otherwise sticky peripherals, be it keyboards, mice or controllers.
