I love bugs. Deep fried tarantulas, ant eggs, grilled scorpions, fried crickets, fried bees etc.

Thats why every year I visit Asia.

It always amuses me how everyone goes on about "saving the world" what they really mean is save humanity, if they really wanted to save the world they'd become a genocidal fuckhead.

I wouldn't eat bugs to save the world no chance, destroy it? yeah sure.

The world doesn't need our help to survive, it'll do fine once we're gone.

In case anyone was questioning this, bugs actually give 40% or so energy back in the food they produce compared to cows(10%). This is why I've sworn off beef and pork.

And I'd go full vegetarian before I eat bugs.

You know what doesn't tend to spread disease? Cattle.
You know what does? Insects.

Honestly guys, if you're going to look at a pseudo-scientific paper one of these times, at least get one that looks at all sides of the argument.

Ok, yes, I ate a deep fried cricket once in biology class. Yes, it tasted like potato and actually wasn't all that bad, except for its legs getting stuck in my braces. But no, I would not each them for an entire year.

if i actually thought it would save lives: yes. HOWEVER, ive seen the facts, and i highly doubt it'd realy do anything for the earth.

on a separate note, have you ever had ants? theyre realy not that bad, argentine ants are the best though(easiest to catch as well).

negatory on that communique.
if i'm not going to drink soy juice even though "waaah, dairy farming is cruel to the poor cowies"
and i'm not going to stop eating beef even though "omg, man, they use cattleprods to herd them into the slaughterhouse"
i'm not going to stop eating livestock because of greenhouse gasses. i already unplug my electronics when i leave my house, i only use my AC during off-peak hours, and i separate the recycle bins because it's practical. i'm sick of hippie/vegan/activist/treehuggers griefing me about everything.

You could just replace some or all of your meat with beans instead of bugs, it's still protein and not, you know, bugs. Some idiot chose to say bugs instead of another alternate source of protein for shock value.

im a veggie so i ethically kick all yo' asses! hence i am the LAST person to hold the responcibility of eating bugs for a year (well, in the last GROUP of people), because it could only INCREASE my carbon footprint

I don't think you're THAT much better than all of us

Unless of course, you buy all your food from local farmers etc.

In which case, I apologise and credit to you!

No point. The worlds already headed to destruction so why can't I be the one do start it? haha.

So livestock farming takes up too much land but grain/vegetable fields don't?
Aren't soy fields the second biggest clear cutter of rain forests?

If they were prepared properly I'd eat them but I don't see how mass bug farming is better then mass livestock farming. I guess bugs put out less green house gas but they would still consume a huge amount of resources.
