Why is there no option for they're equal? PC gaming great for RTS's, RPG's and everything you can mod on, but consel gamings much more fast pased with action adventure games, some RPG and personaly I prefer playing FPS's on consels.

Normally I'd say no, but last Saturday when I was at Gamestop there was only 1 side of a chest-high shelf that contained PC games. And most of those were also on consoles. So I'm not really sure anymore.

Right now it´s definitely in decline, but I´m sure that once the consoles grow old and people start wanting for a new generation of presentation in gaming again, the PC will come back big time. I´m more of a console gamer myself (if I play a PC game I do it with my Xbox controller on my tv), but PC gaming has always been the platform to push the industry forward, so I´m hoping it´ll happen this way. Gaming needs the PC.

Epic and Microsoft have claimed that it has not abandoned the PC, and it will save PC gaming, respectively. Do you think PC gaming is a lost cause?

hahaha damn it, Escapist are you trolling us? You just kicked up a whirling hive of PC zealotry (myself included).

Look, don't blame me when a pustule-laden overweight mob bearing pitchforks and Razer mice breaks into your headquarters and begins murdering your employees while screaming

"DO YOU HAVE ANY EPIC LOOT? HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE ARE YOU WORTH!? DIE! DIE!!! AHAHAHAHAAHA"

EDIT: On a more serious note, the PC will exist because it is the only system with an input system capable of managing Real Time Strategy games (i.e. the incoming Divine Creation: Starcraft II) . It also has the now-ubiquitous MMO genre, which is fairly undoable on a Console (imagine WoW on a console. No hotkeys? /scoff.)

So, in conclusion, Blizzard will single-handedly save PC gaming.

(I jest. Valve will be involved, too.)

Nice to see there's no let up on the completely stupid questions. Or the lack of a simple "No." option without any arbitrary grandstanding.

Oh come on, at least google the phrase before posting if you're unsure!

It doesn't really seem dead, but less people are leaning in that direction nowadays.

It neither reigns supreme, nor is it dying. The primary market still lies in consoles, but the PC gaming community is large enough to say that it isn't dying. In fact, the numbers behind PC gaming have been rising continuously over the past few years. Not as fast or as prominent as it console brethren, but still enough to be considered as growth.

um, nooo it's able to keep up with all the other consoles and it can perform a hell of a lot better if you have the right computer. So no it's not dying at all.

That's not much of a choice?
It's dead or it's the be all and end all?
It's neither. It's not what it used to be, but it's also far from dead.

Is PC gaming dead? No. Reigns supreme? Don't think so. Devs seem to be pushing console releases. Going extinct? Not likely. There are dedicated PC gamers. A lot of console games are getting PC releases.

Well, now you see why you're supposed to sacrifice your firstborn to the Elder Gods!

These questions need far more answer choices, since the questions are rarely clear cut yes and no.

Is PC gaming dying? No. I don't think it will until someone invents the holodeck.

But neither does it "reign supreme." Fewer AAA releases combined with rising costs all round combined with the ease of access consoles provide mean that PC gaming has become more of a dedicated hobby rather than the simple pleasure it once was.

Lots of flamebait questions of late eh? I wonder why....

As for the question, I can see PC gaming always being a part of the gaming community

Where's the "I wish" option. I'm not much of a PC gamer and i'm getting pretty sick of hearing about all the people who play mumorpugers of FPS' and how it stands above all, basked in the holy light of God or something. But it definitely isn't dead and probably won't be dying in the near future either.
