Report: Internet Explorer 9 Doesn't Suck

Im sticking to my wubby-dubby Fox6. I've had nothing but crap go wrong with IE, and seems most times when someone gets a virus regardless of Browser, its their fault for clicking on something stupid like "Earn $4,200 a week with GOOGLE!" scams.
Bullshit! If you have to download an exe file, run it and confirm 3 security dialogs, it doesn't count. There ain't nothing that can get through Chrome's sandbox.
Also, IE doesn't update it self. So even if Microsoft does patch something, how many people actually update?

I use IE & Firefox professionally.
Personally, I tend to use all of the "big 4" PC/IBM browsers: IE, Firefox, Chrome and Opera. I can't remember the exact reason why (besides curiosity in the differences in functionality and interface), but now the reasons are gone and the browsers are just... there. Ready for use. Plus, thousands of HDD space, huge amounts of RAM - the computer's not struggling like it did five or six years ago.
IE9 is surprisingly robust and well made if only to compare it to its predecessors. I'm kind of preferring the UI to Firefox 4's.

So Microsoft funds a study that shows it's newest version of IE rates better than stripped down, outdated versions of other browsers.

Safari has never failed me. My ISP sure does suck though been going downhill for months till lately. Been.... slightly better with them.

I like Chrome's speed, but I prefered IE 7's comprehensive interface. I dumped IE when it dumped the familiar interface.
Also, the reason you don't get as much Malware from IE is because it won't let you do anything online

This study is invalid. Only IE, Opera, and Safari had their latest editions tested. Firefox is on version 6 and Chrome is on version 13 (check their wiki entries).
I'm really doubting that Microsoft managed to tighten up IE that much in 1 version. Staying with firefox.

Let me get this straight, IE protects your computer against you? Firefox user here and haven't install any malware/virus for a couple years now. So much for 15 days.
This just seems like it's IE going, "I'm sorry Dave, I can't let you do that." Most of the prevention is going to be in the form of a broken link, or similar (like a page coming up saying bad link), assuming. So, how many actually links does it break to provide this protection?
I would have to really look into this 'study' just to see where the specifics are (because ALL studies have flaws and misleadings) but this sounds like an internet blocker. Like Bess at my old highschool.

I have always liked IE. I never really noticed the performance hitches that other people seemed to dwell on. Then again, I don't expect a ton from my browser to begin with. To me, it's a simple window to the internet. I don't expect it to do much more than to allow me to browse and keep malware from setting up shop on my PC.
Microsoft sucks, therefore all it's products are are of suck.
IE 9 is already known to be fairly good. The problem is that it is vista+ only. XP users have no chance to get it, and that is pretty much taking a dump on a OS that still holds 30-70% of market shares, depending on individual countries, and people's security.
All to push sales.
